Paper Craft Crew DT Badge

?♪♪? When the moon hits your eye, like a big pizza pie – that’s amore! ?♪♪?

Welcome my friend, to the Paper Craft Crew Challenge of the week!  This week is all about – as you may have guessed – Love!  There’s no sketch to work from, just take the idea of love, and work your magic to come up with your own layout.

There are a million or more songs all about love; the good, the bad, the gone-wrong…but for some reason it was the old classics that came to my mind.  You know, the ‘big band’ era, with Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, Glenn Miller, Duke Ellington, Tommy Dorsey, etc.  (no, I’m not that old, but I can appreciate good music 😉 )

So I decided to play a little loose with an interpretation of  ‘Fly Me To The Moon’ (which, did you know, was originally titled ‘In Other Words’?).

Sky is the Limit PCCCS179

I am getting so much use from the free Sale-A-Bration stamp ‘Sky is the Limit‘!  I just love the bi-plane image, and it is quite easy to hand cut.

I started with a card base of Real Red cardstock, and added a panel from the free Sale-A-Bration Perfectly Artistic Designer Series Paper.  I used the Tree Builder Punch to create some clouds from Whisper White cardstock, and stamped the plane in Basic Gray Archival ink onto Whisper White.  The sentiment, from the Something To Say stamp set, was stamped in Real Red ink, and I used the Banner Triple Punch to create the tails.  I simply snipped off the other corners using my Paper Snips, and attached the banner to the plane with some Real Red Baker’s Twine (from last Christmas).

After I added the plane, clouds and banner onto the DSP, I  stamped the fluffy heart contrail behind the plane  in Versamark Ink, covered it with White Embossing Powder and heat set it with my Heat Tool.  I then used the Clear Wink of Stella Glitter pen to add some sparkle to the edges of the clouds, and the propeller of the plane.

So, while it’s not a rocket ship (we don’t have a current one of those in our stamps), do the lyrics come to mind?  ? ?? Fly me to the moon; let me sing among the stars.  Let me see what spring is like on a-Jupiter and Mars.  In other words…hold my hand ??  🙂

I hope you’ve enjoyed my card for this challenge – and maybe you’re in the mood for a little music?!  I do hope  you’ll go to the Paper Craft Crew page and see the other fabulous designs by the rest of the Design Team – I’m sure they won’t be so oddly inspired as mine!! LOL

Have a great day, and I hope you’ll join us in this week’s challenge!   Until next time – happy stamping!

I've always liked to create things, but I'm not a great artist, or sculptor, or any type of 'traditional' artist - but I love to create! I love the satisfaction of a completed project. Whether a card, painting or other project - as long as it can create a smile, evoke a feeling, or some type of reaction in the recipient. I hope you will enjoy sharing my creations, and occasional ramblings; I'd enjoy having you create with me! :)

I love to read what you have to say! Thanks for commenting ;)
