Hello, hello! I’m so glad you’re here for another sketch challenge with the Paper Craft Crew! Every week I am blown away by the creativity that you show, when you enter your cards into our challenges; it is wonderful to visit your posts, and read about how you decided to use the stamps and colours on your cards.
This week will be no different, I’m sure; check out our sketch for you:
Interesting shape elements, aren’t they? This is how I worked them into my card:
You can see that I moved the tag to the other side – that’s called ‘creative license’! 🙂
I am absolutely devastated that this stamp set, A Nice Cuppa and it’s coordinating Cups & Kettle Framelits are retiring!! It’s such a wonderful set for tea and coffee drinkers, I thought for sure it would carry over into the new catalogue. :'( *sniff*
So, I will have to enjoy it while I can – and probably longer, because I think I’ll be hanging onto it, for personal use!
I started off by choosing my designer series paper first, then pulled my colours from there. I stamped the tea cups in Wisteria Wonder onto Whisper White cardstock – boom, that was easy! I then stamped the little tea bag in Crushed Curry, and cut it out using my Paper Snips. I then used it as a guide to cut out the same shape, but larger, from Crushed Curry cardstock to layer behind it.
I cut a panel of Wisteria Wonder cardstock, and ran it and the little Crushed Curry tag shape through the Big Shot with the retired Fancy Fan embossing folder. I chose to use that one, as it was closest to the scallops on the Metallic Doily that I used behind the stamped tea cups image (I simply flipped it over to use the back white side instead of the metallic side). I punched each of the corners using the scallop part of the Curvy Corner Trio Punch (also retiring), then layered all the pieces together onto a Crushed Curry cardstock base.
I added a little bow made of some retired Wisteria Wonder Baker’s Twine from my stash, and also tied on one of the cute little teapots from the Have a Cuppa Embellishments.
I hope you’ll join in the challenge with us; for more inspiration, check out the Paper Craft Crew page to see the rest of the Design Team’s projects!
Until next time – happy stamping!
I love your card, Deborah. I am sad this set is retiring. I love it too!
Thank you, Susan! I’m reeling from a lot of sets on the retiring list; we’ll have to decide which are ‘keepers’ and which we will sell 🙁
