Wow, you have been rockin’ the challenges, lately!  Everyone on the Design Team has been thoroughly enjoying seeing all the amazing cards linked up, and we’re so happy you’re participating!

I hope you’re ready for another great sketch challenge this week:

I told you it was a great sketch!  I couldn’t resist using my new Christmas favourite, Cookie Cutter Christmas, along with a favourite from last year, Wondrous Wreath:

Isn’t Rudolph peeking through the wreath just too cute?   It made me smile 🙂

I started by stamping the wreath base in Pear Pizzaz ink onto Whisper White cardstock.  I then added the 2nd layer of leaves using Emerald Envy ink, then added the berries in Real Red.  I used the coordinating Wonderful Wreath Framelits and the Big Shot to die cut the wreath; I love it when there’s coordinating tools to make my life easy!

Next, I stamped the reindeer from the Cookie Cutter Christmas stamp set in Soft Suede ink onto Crumb Cake cardstock.  Using the Cookie Cutter Builder Punch, I punched out the reindeer.  (did I mention how much I love it when SU! makes coordinating tools, to make my life easy?! 😉 )  I then stamped just the nose in Real Red ink onto Whisper White, then used my Paper Snips to hand cut it, and glue it over top of the stamped nose.

To create the card, I started with a base of Real Red cardstock.  I took a panel of Whisper White, and stamped the Work of Art paint brush strokes in Pear Pizzaz ink, then added the splotches from Gorgeous Grunge in Emerald Envy.

I then attached a strip of the Candy Cane Lane Designer Series Paper down the left side, adding a strip of Emerald Envy cardstock underneath it.  After that was done, I attached the wreath and Rudolph to the panel using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I die cut the word Joy from Real Red cardstock, using the Wonderful Wreath Framelits, and glued it to the bottom using the Tombow Liquid Glue.

Measurements:

Card Base – Real Red cardstock – 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″, scored & folded at 4 1/4″

Panel – Whisper White cardstock – 5 1/4″ x 4″

Strip – Emerald Envy cardstock – 1 3/4″ x 5 1/4″

Strip – Candy Cane Lane DSP – 1 1/2″ x 5 1/4″

I've always liked to create things, but I'm not a great artist, or sculptor, or any type of 'traditional' artist - but I love to create! I love the satisfaction of a completed project. Whether a card, painting or other project - as long as it can create a smile, evoke a feeling, or some type of reaction in the recipient. I hope you will enjoy sharing my creations, and occasional ramblings; I'd enjoy having you create with me! :)
