Peaceful Poinsettia Holiday Card

Welcome to today’s post, stamping friend! Today I have another Peaceful Poinsettia holiday card to share with you. It uses both the framelit (outline) of the poinsettia, as well as the inside detailed die cut. I love the new Merry Merlot colour, so I’ve used it in today’s card.

Peaceful Poinsettia Holiday Card

I’ve used quite a few new products from the Holiday catalogue on this card; I’ll be sure to list them all!

Use the Big Shot with the Tin Tile Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder (DTIEF) to emboss a panel of Whisper White cardstock. Next, use a Sponge Dauber with the Merry Merlot ink pad to sponge ink on the raised portions of the embossing. Now cover the bottom half of the panel with a panel from the Joyous Noel Specialty Designer Series Paper, with Multipurpose Liquid Glue. I like this striped design; it uses different values of the Merry Merlot colour.

Stamp the sentiment from the Peaceful Poinsettia stamp set onto white cardstock, in Tuxedo Black Memento ink. Die cut it with the Big Shot and Stitched Shapes Framelits.

With the Big Shot again, use the Detailed Poinsettia Thinlits Dies to first die cut the detailed poinsettia in Merry Merlot cardstock. Now, use the outline framelit of the poinsettia around the detailed die cut, and cut out the poinsettia. Now use just the framelit outline to die cut a solid poinsettia shape, also from Merry Merlot cardstock. Use a slightly wet Aqua Painter to flick some Frost White Shimmer Paint onto the solid poinsettia shape. The next die cutting to do is the leaves from Pear Pizzazz cardstock, and the berries from more Merry Merlot.

Once the Shimmer Paint is dry – it only takes a few seconds – layer the detailed die cut poinsettia onto the shape, using either Multipurpose Liquid Glue, or the Fine Tip Glue Pen. Now you’re ready to assemble the card front.

You’ve already attached the DSP to the embossed & sponged white panel. Now, attach it to a Gray Granite cardstock base, with Dimensionals. Attach the die cut poinsettia mainly on the DSP, with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Tuck in the die cut leaves with liquid glue, adding in the Merry Merlot berries. Attach the sentiment to the right of the flower, with Dimensionals.

Peaceful Poinsettia Holiday Card

Since the sentiment doesn’t actually mention Christmas, you could send it to your friends who don’t specifically celebrate Christmas, but do enjoy the holidays.  The small flowers that you can see stamped inside are from the Dashing Deer stamp set.

The great thing about the Peaceful Poinsettia set is that you can purchase the Bundle, which includes both the stamp set and Framelits, and get a 10% discount! That means you’ll have more to spend – say on the new Shimmer Paints! They’re available in Bright Copper, Champagne Mist, Frost White and Vegas Gold. You can also combine your World CardMaking Day discounted items with any other items you want to order. And if you’re a subscriber to my newsletter, you’ll know about my special FREE SHIPPING FRIDAY – for subscribers only! (I can only offer this to residents of Canada – sorry, but them’s the rules!). If you haven’t already subscribed, but would like to take advantage of this offer, SUBSCRIBE NOW, then email me to let me know, and I’ll give you the details!

I've always liked to create things, but I'm not a great artist, or sculptor, or any type of 'traditional' artist - but I love to create! I love the satisfaction of a completed project. Whether a card, painting or other project - as long as it can create a smile, evoke a feeling, or some type of reaction in the recipient. I hope you will enjoy sharing my creations, and occasional ramblings; I'd enjoy having you create with me! :)

I love to read what you have to say! Thanks for commenting ;)
