Hello again, my friend!  I hope you’ve had a good week; it’s Friday afternoon as I’m writing this.

I’ve been keeping busy lately with parties, and classes, as well as blog hops and challenges.  I hope you’ll come back on Monday to see the Feb. 1st Blogging Friends Blog Hop; we’ve got lots of new friends on the list, so there will be no end of fabulous inspiration for you!

Today I thought I’d share a card I did last month, for my Sale-A-Bration Kick Off Party.  This card uses one of the new sets in the Occasions Catalogue, called ‘Picture Perfect’.

picture perfect

This stamp set contains images of the rose, hummingbird, and a sea star, leaves, as well as several sentiments.  The rose is a 3-step stamp, and the hummingbird is a 4-step stamp; that’s the most steps to 1 stamp I’ve come across yet!  But it does make for a beautiful image.

I first stamped the roses in Wisteria Wonder, Elegant Eggplant and Blackberry Bliss, then stamped the hummingbird in Smoky Slate, Old Olive, and Blackberry Bliss.  The leaves are also 2 step stamps; I used Old Olive and Cucumber Crush.

I then used my cutter to cut the stamped panel into 3 pieces, and layered them on top of a panel of Old Olive cardstock, which I then layered onto a card base of Blackberry Bliss.  The sentiment, also from this set, was stamped in Blackberry Bliss, then I used the Word Window Punch to punch it out, and layered it onto a punched piece (using the retired Modern Label punch) of Blackberry Bliss cardstock.

In this next picture, you can see that I used the Clear Wink of Stella glitter pen to add some glitter to the humminbird:

I have a hummingbird feeder right outside the window next to my computer, and I just love watching them come to feed, and zip about so quickly! I take pictures when I can, but they don’t stay still for very long!

hummingbird

This is a picture when I caught a little Anna’s hummingbird coming for a snack!  I’m pretty sure that this is a female, as she has very little colour to her; you can see a bit of the green on her head, which is more visible when it flashes in the sun.  I’m guessing it’s because she stays most with the nest, so needs better camouflage.

I’ve hardly used this new stamp set yet, so when I’ve played with different colour combinations for the rose and the hummingbird, I’ll share them with pictures for you.  It’s nice to have an idea how they might turn out!

Remember that Sale-A-Bration is still going on until March 31st; with any $60 order you qualify for 1 FREE item from the Sale-A-Bration brochure!  And, the last 3 pages of the brochure have limited time items;  you  only have until Feb. 15th to get those freebies, then they’ll be replaced by new products!

I've always liked to create things, but I'm not a great artist, or sculptor, or any type of 'traditional' artist - but I love to create! I love the satisfaction of a completed project. Whether a card, painting or other project - as long as it can create a smile, evoke a feeling, or some type of reaction in the recipient. I hope you will enjoy sharing my creations, and occasional ramblings; I'd enjoy having you create with me! :)

I love to read what you have to say! Thanks for commenting ;)
