Pinwheel Fold Revisited

Hi stamping friend! I hope you had a great weekend.  We actually had some snow here – not too surprising, but it doesn’t usually ‘stick’ this early in the year! Lots of snow on the mountains, though – skiers will be loving it!  Anyway, I thought I’d share another card from my friend’s card swap – it’s the Pinwheel fold revisited!

I first shared this fold technique back in 2015, so you may not remember it. You can read the post HERE.  I had seen it online somewhere, and taught it to my Techniques Club.  (I miss that club – anyone want to start it up again??)

This is the card I created back then:

And here it is, below, opened up:

The belly band comes off, the flaps open up, and voila! A stamped greeting inside! There’s plenty of room to write your salutation, and this fold will even accommodate a gift card, or cash inside.

This next one was created by a friend, Kathy, from the card swap. She used retired holiday paper, and embellished the belly band with an adorable snowflake!

These would be perfect little gifts for a coworker or hostess; just tuck a gift card, or flat chocolate (like a Ghirardelli square) inside!

Be sure to check out my Tutorials page, here on my blog! I’ll add this one, for the Pinwheel Fold.  While the papers and stamp sets used in the tutorials may now be retired, you can still use them, and just change up the products you want to use!

You can find the button for my Tutorials page in the top menu bar, or simply CLICK HERE to navigate over.  And have fun! 🙂

I've always liked to create things, but I'm not a great artist, or sculptor, or any type of 'traditional' artist - but I love to create! I love the satisfaction of a completed project. Whether a card, painting or other project - as long as it can create a smile, evoke a feeling, or some type of reaction in the recipient. I hope you will enjoy sharing my creations, and occasional ramblings; I'd enjoy having you create with me! :)

  1. Beautiful job Deb. I tried one of these once and was not happy with the outcome. Yours is much better!!

    1. You should give it another try, Jackie! I remember my first try -picture NOT included! – was like a ball of wet laundry! 🙂

I love to read what you have to say! Thanks for commenting ;)
