Wow – I was just reviewing my blog posts, and can’t believe how I’ve gotten so far behind! Well, it is the busy time of year, and it’s no exception in my house. How are your Christmas and holiday preparations coming along?
Just last night was my “Mingle & Jingle All the Way” customer appreciation party – it’s my annual way of saying ‘Thank You’ to all my wonderful customers who have supported me through out the year.
It was unfortunate that my email system had decided to play ‘Grinch’, and a lot of my customers never received my invitation; which of course I didn’t realize, as I hadn’t received any error message or anything…once I realized the problem, my phone calls were generally too late for but a handful to attend. That’s okay – we manage to have quite a lot of fun! 🙂
Besides the usual goody table (with veggie & fruit platters, chocolates and homemade gingerbread men and shortbread cookies), we played a couple of games, and made some Christmas gift tags.
The first game we played was one that I ‘borrowed’ from the Stampin’ Up! Canada Conference that I attended; it’s kind of a mash-up of Jeopardy and Let’s Make a Deal – and it’s lots of fun.
In the picture above, Susan (left) and Lynn (right) square off, ready for the first question. I would read a question, and the first person who thought they knew the answer had to hit the button (good ol’ Staples ‘that was easy’ button!), and answer the question. If they were wrong, then their opponent got a chance to answer. If no one knew the answer (which did happen – and I thought I made the questions easy!), then they had to do the ‘walk of shame’, and sit down – giving the next contestants a try.
Debbie (right) takes up a determined stance against her sister, Christine!
Lynn and Christine are both stumped, and I’m having a big laugh!! 🙂
The next game we played is the ‘Left-Right-Left’ game. Each person receives a wrapped gift to start. I read a story, and every time I say the words ‘left’ or ‘right’, everyone has to pass their gift in that direction. Some of those left-right’s came pretty fast & furious – leading to a lot of laughs!
Presents are flying around the table!
Finally the story ends, and everyone gets to open (and keep!) their gifts. Early Christmas fun – ho, ho, ho!
These are the hand decorated gift bags I made – one for each person, filled with goodies and the much-anticipated upcoming Occasions Catalogue and Sale-a-bration brochure!
After we made the tags (of which yes, I forgot to take a picture), everyone enjoyed more treats and drooled – I mean browsed- over the new catalogue. We were all planning out which would be the first stamp sets & accessories we would purchase (and decided that we’d just buy it all – save the headache of decision making! LOL).
Everyone made comments about feeling spoiled, and how generous the gifts were; but really, I’m most thankful for you, my wonderful customers, many of whom have become my friends. Meeting you all has been a terrific experience, and I appreciate each and every one of you!
For my customers who couldn’t attend the party – fear not! I will be either dropping off or mailing your catalogues out to you this week.
Until next time – Happy Stamping!
