Hi stamping friends!
It’s time for another challenge card with The Paper Players! They have a sketch challenge – PP242 – and I had fun working with this one (okay, I have fun with all of them!)
This is the sketch provided:
I decided to make a Father’s Day card for my interpretation:
Come to think of it – this would work perfectly well for any occasion for a guy card – I just had Father’s Day on my mind when I was making it. I started with a card base of Tempting Turquoise, then layered a panel of Basic Grey cardstock on top. I then took a panel of Adventure Bound Designer Series Paper, cut it approximately into 2/3rds, then flipped the top 1/3 to show the river rock side, and glued both pieces on top of the Basic Grey. I haven’t played with this Adventure Bound DSP nearly enough! It has such great patterns, along with the photo-realistic sides.
I used the Guy Greetings stamp set, and stamped the old car image in Soft Suede onto Whisper White cardstock, and cut it out using the Ovals Collection Thinlits Dies and the Big Shot. I then cut a larger oval using the same die set, and layered it under the car image. (before layering, I sponged some Soft Suede ink around the edges of the Whisper White oval using a Sponge Dauber, and sponged some Tempting Turquoise ink around the edges of the larger oval). I layered 3 banners under the image, using the same DSP, a piece of Basic Grey and a piece of Tempting Turquoise card stocks. I embossed the Basic Grey banner with the Stylish Stripes embossing folder, and the Tempting Turquoise banner using the Argyle embossing folder (retiring).
Finally, the sentiment was stamped in Tempting Turquoise ink onto Whisper White cardstock, and one end cut with banner tails. I sponged the edges again with the Sponge Dauber and Tempting Turquoise ink, before attaching it to the card base using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
If you haven’t already, you really should check out The Paper Players page – there is some amazing projects there, from the design team and the other cards submitted for the challenges.
I hope you’ve enjoyed my card sharing with you! I would love to hear your comments, if you have time to leave one for me 🙂
Thanks for visiting! Until next time – happy stamping!
