Today we’re celebrating our youngest son’s 19th birthday! Since he hasn’t seen his card yet (we do the cards & presents after dinner), I thought it would be a good time to share a review of birthday cards I’ve done over the past year (or two).
Family Birthday Cards
This birthday card I made for our oldest son – his birthday was in January! It features the Party Animal Suite of products; the Designer Paper is called Party Animal. The stamp is from the Balloon Adventures set, and the cute little balloon is a painted metal embellishment from the Party Animal Embellishments.
The inside of this card is where the real fun is – compliments of the Balloon Pop-Up Thinlits Dies!
How fun is this?! I love the way you can stamp the balloons and sentiment after the die cutting. One tip – make sure you stamp before you crease the fold line; you can see on my middle balloon, where the ink didn’t cover the fold line! Each side has a strip of the fun stripe design from the Party Animal DSP.
Birthday Cards with Swirly Scribbles Thinlits
When the new In Colours first came out, I had to combine the Flirty Flamingo and Peekaboo Peach with Calypso Coral. I used the Big Shot with the Swirly Scribbles Thinlits to die cut from each of the cardstock colours. I stamped the large scalloped flower behind the largest scribble with the Flower Patch stamp set.
The dots are stamped from the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set, and the leaves are also from the Swirly Scribbles Thinlits..
A ‘Throwback’ to Last Year’s Sale-A-Bration
Make your birthday cards fun, with fun folds! This card is a throwback to last year’s Sale-A-Bration, which is when I made it. It uses one of the FREE stamp sets Botanicals For You. I still have this set – I like it so much for it’s big, bold sentiment!
This next picture shows the Z Fold part of the card:

Getting Ready to Party!
Now, I’m off to finish preparing a yummy birthday dinner (he chose a ‘mexican food’ theme, so it’s quesadillas tonight!). We’ll be celebrating again tomorrow, with dinner with the rest of the family.
I hope you have a great weekend, too!
Wonderful cards, Deb! Love that metal balloon embellishment. Happy Birthday to your son!! Now go celebrate!
So glad you enjoyed seeing my birthday cards,Laura! It was so nice of you to visit and leave a comment. We did have fun celebrating my son’s birthday, too 🙂
