REVISIT MY WATERCOLOUR IMAGES

Hello, my stamping friend! I hope you had a good weekend, and that this Monday is treating you well! I thought I’d revisit my watercolour images from last week, and turn them into cards. It was interesting that the feedback I got on these 2 panels. I  had asked which one people preferred; the inked image (with the black outline) or the no line watercolour. The response was pretty much 50/50! So, I guess it’s strictly personal preference. Either that, or half of you like pink, the other half yellow! LOL!

BOTH IMAGE PANELS

Here’s a quick repost of the two images, before I cut them down & turned them into cards. To read the whole post about how I created them, you can CLICK HERE (it will open in a new tab).

The only thing I did change before creating the cards, was to add a bit of blue shadow under the pink flower – but not all the way around it.

STAMPED & LINED IMAGE CARD

Here is the card created with the black lined image.

CARD DETAILS

I kept it nice & simple, without a sentiment – one can be added later. First, create a card base of yellow cardstock, and add a panel of light blue. These colours were chosen to follow the colours on the panel. Next, cut a strip of yellow cardstock and glue it down horizontally across the middle of the blue panel. Then, cut a thinner strip of the blue cardstock, and snip banner tails on each end. Pop that up on top of the yellow strip, with foam squares. Finally, die cut an oval from the watercoloured panel, and attach it with foam tape to the middle of the card front.

NO LINE PINK FLOWER CARD

I kept the card layout exactly the same, but with the different colours.

You can see where I added the blue shadowing underneath the flower. I chose a dark pink and the light blue cardstock, for this layout.

SIDE BY SIDE COMPARISON

So here they are! Same layout, different colours! Does this affect which one you prefer, or do you still like the one you chose last week?

I've always liked to create things, but I'm not a great artist, or sculptor, or any type of 'traditional' artist - but I love to create! I love the satisfaction of a completed project. Whether a card, painting or other project - as long as it can create a smile, evoke a feeling, or some type of reaction in the recipient. I hope you will enjoy sharing my creations, and occasional ramblings; I'd enjoy having you create with me! :)

  1. Still voting for the yellow, but I think it’s because I like yellow better and the colors just pop against the black ink. I will say, though, that a lot of the “no-line watercolors” I’ve seen sometimes look like just a blob of ink. I love the definition on the pink rose; it’s really quite lovely!

    1. Thanks so much for your kind comment, Buffy! You’re a good friend to say such nice things about my first no line watercolour! 🙂

  2. I like the no line one better, although the other one is gorgeous too. I like the softness of the pink one! (PS: still no daily email from you so I am sorry when I forget to comment. It is hard to get old and forgetful without reminders!).

    1. Thanks, Susan! I’m glad you like the no line image. I just need to work on my painting skills 🙂 Sorry I haven’t been able to figure out yet why you’re not getting emails for the posts, yet. I’m working on it! (and blaming the latest update).

I love to read what you have to say! Thanks for commenting ;)
