ROOTED IN NATURE FOR PCC296

Welcome back from our previous 2 week sketch challenge with the Paper Craft Crew! This week, PCC296 is another sketch, and I can’t wait to see what you do with this one!

Doesn’t this look fun?! You know that CAS (Clean And Simple) isn’t my usual style, but this sketch really appealed to me. Of course, I reached for my new favourite, Rooted in Nature stamp set.

I love how all the white space just adds to the focus on the small square in the corner.

DETAILS

I decided to stay with a neutral, ‘natural’ palette of colours. Create your card base with Tranquil Tide cardstock. Next, add a panel of Granny Apple Green cardstock with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

On a panel of Whisper White, stamp the sentiment from Rooted in Nature stamp set in Tranquil Tide ink, in the upper left corner. Die cut a square of Whisper White cardstock with the Big Shot and Stitched Shapes Framelits. Stamp 1 large and 1 smaller leaf, from the Rooted in Nature stamp set, both in Tranquil Tide ink. Cut a square of Tranquil Tide cardstock 1/4″ larger than the white square, and layer them together with Dimensionals. On the back of the Tranquil Tide square, attach a strip of one of the border trim from the Delightfully Detailed Laser-Cut Specialty DSP.

Stamp the small leaf image in Granny Apple Green ink onto Whisper White. Use the Big Shot and Nature’s Roots Framelits to die cut it. Attach the die cut leaves to the back of the stamped square, and layer them onto the Whisper White panel with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

To attach the Silver Leaves Trinkets, apply a strip of Tear & Tape to the back of the trinket, remove the backing, and attach to the left bottom corner of the stamped square. It holds really well, and the tape is not visible!

Now attach your white panel to the card base, again with Dimensionals. Finish off your card front by adding some Clear Rhinestones.

STAMP INSIDE!

The picture below shows how I added a panel of Whisper White cardstock to the inside, and stamped the detailed leaves from the Rooted in Nature stamp set, in Tranquil Tide, to the inside.

This picture also show the wonderful layers that bring such dimension to an otherwise ‘clean and simple’ card.

I've always liked to create things, but I'm not a great artist, or sculptor, or any type of 'traditional' artist - but I love to create! I love the satisfaction of a completed project. Whether a card, painting or other project - as long as it can create a smile, evoke a feeling, or some type of reaction in the recipient. I hope you will enjoy sharing my creations, and occasional ramblings; I'd enjoy having you create with me! :)
