Say it With a Starburst

Happy Monday, my friend! I hope you’re ready to celebrate with me, because today is my birthday! No, I don’t expect any gifts – in fact, I’ll be giving one lucky person a gift. All you have to do to be entered is leave a comment on this post, or on today’s post on the Scrap ‘N Stamp blog (it’s the same as this one). I’ll be choosing 1 lucky person to WIN A $25 GIFT CERTIFICATE to the Scrap ‘N Stamp store!  Today, I’m sharing a new MFT stamp set called Say It In A Starburst, and some gorgeous WOW Embossing Glitter!

SAY IT IN A STARBURST

This stamp set also has a coordinating die, but today I’m just using the stamp set. The gorgeous Florida Sunset Embossing Glitter from WOW is perfect for the starburst.

Say It In A Starburst

This embossing glitter has a gorgeous, dark pink combined with gold, for a beautiful, shiny effect! It’s also hard to do it justice with a camera – glare is not my friend!

CARD DETAILS

The sentiments that come with the Say It In A Starburst stamp set are meant to fit in between the two halves of the starburst. You can either stamp them directly in between – there’s a space left for them, or you can do as I did here, and stamp the sentiment separately.

First, set up your cardstock and starburst stamp in your stamp platform. Use your static tool on the cardstock, to reduce excess powder where you don’t want it. Ink it up with Versamark ink, and stamp. Having it set up in your stamp platform means that you can ink & stamp twice, to make sure you have a good, solid impression. Now remove the panel, and cover it with the WOW Florida Sunset Embossing Glitter, and set with a heat tool.

Stamp the sentiment in Versamark ink onto a 3/4″ x 4 1/4″ strip of bright pink cardstock. Cover it with WOW Gold embossing powder, and heat set.

Create a card base from bright pink cardstock. Attach 3 strips of 1 1/4″ gold mirror cardstock to the front, with glue. Place the starburst panel to the middle, using foam tape. Next, attach the sentiment strip across the middle of the starburst, with more foam tape. Finally, add some gold star embellishments from your stash (sorry – I can’t remember where these came from!).

Say it With a Starburst

How pretty is that?! I had to put some of the embossing glitter in front of the card, so you can see how pretty it is. Still, I decided that wasn’t quite enough – so I made another card!

UPLIFTING THOUGHTS

I really wanted to show off how pretty this embossing glitter is, so I stamped the flowers from the Concord & 9th Uplifting Thoughts stamp set in Versamark, and embossed them.

Uplifting Thoughts

As I said earlier – the camera just doesn’t do this embossing glitter justice! You can see above the combination of pink and gold. I tried taking a picture on  an angle – have a look below.

WOW embossing glitter

There’s one thing to keep in mind with these embossing glitters, and it’s this. The colour you see after heat embossing depends on the colour of cardstock you’re using as your base. I first tried using it on black cardstock – I thought ‘wow, this will really pop!’ Well – what showed up after embossing was just the gold – have a look!

WOW embossing glitter

In the photo above, you can see a peek of the pink – but really, it’s mainly the gold you see. So – keep that in mind when choosing your colours!

LEAVE A COMMENT FOR A CHANCE TO WIN!

Now it’s your turn – leave a comment for a chance to WIN A $25 GIFT CERTIFICATE! It’s my birthday gift to you. Here’s what I want you to comment on – tell me which of the WOW Embossing Powders or Glitters in the Scrap ‘N Stamp store would  YOU like to try?!  Clicking the highlighted words will  open the embossing powders store page in a new tab, so you can see all of them! Be sure to leave your comment by Thursday, Sept. 26th – the winner will be announced on Friday, Sept. 27th.

For shopping, I’ve included links below to the products I used for my cards. Thanks for hanging out with me today, and helping me celebrate!

I've always liked to create things, but I'm not a great artist, or sculptor, or any type of 'traditional' artist - but I love to create! I love the satisfaction of a completed project. Whether a card, painting or other project - as long as it can create a smile, evoke a feeling, or some type of reaction in the recipient. I hope you will enjoy sharing my creations, and occasional ramblings; I'd enjoy having you create with me! :)

  1. Happy Birthday, Deb. I have always preferred a super fine embossing powder so I would pick the Clear Gloss in super fine as it is so versatile. I also like the look of all the super fine Metallics.
