Scrap 'N Stamp challenge distress

Hello again, my friend! For today’s card, I decided to play along with the Scrap ‘N Stamp challenge with ‘distress’ as today’s prompt. So, I reached for my Distress Oxide inks to create this quick card. I think the sentiment makes it perfect to send to a friend you’ve been missing.

ALTENEW LAYERED DAHLIA

I pulled out my Layered Dahlia Stencils A & B, from Altenew. These huge flowers cover your background, so all you have to do is add a sentiment. Perfect for quick & easy cards.

CARD DETAILS

Lay the detail stencil over a panel of white cardstock. Use Purple Tape to hold it in place while you blend Wilted Violet distress oxide ink with a blending tool. Next, remove & wipe clean the stencil. Now, layer the 2nd stencil over top, and blend Dusty Concord distress oxide through the small areas. Remove and clean that stencil. Next, use a mini mister to spray some water onto the panel. Allow the water to sit for a couple of seconds, and then blot with a clean paper towel.

Stamp the 2 sentiments from the Studio Katia Peony Trimmings stamp set, in Tuxedo Black ink. Next, use the coordinating dies to die cut the sentiment strips. Attach them to the stenciled panel using foam tape.  Now, attach the panel to a dark purple card base. Finish off the card front by adding a few rhinestones.

I've always liked to create things, but I'm not a great artist, or sculptor, or any type of 'traditional' artist - but I love to create! I love the satisfaction of a completed project. Whether a card, painting or other project - as long as it can create a smile, evoke a feeling, or some type of reaction in the recipient. I hope you will enjoy sharing my creations, and occasional ramblings; I'd enjoy having you create with me! :)

    1. Ah – I’m so glad I hit on one of your favourite colours, Jackie! 🙂 So glad that you like this card!

  1. Hola, Deb! I ‘m with Jackie……PURPLE! My favorite color! Gorgeous card, my friend. Just beautiful! Girl, I am doing laundry. Yuck! Plus, it is super hot today. We are going to be near 100*F today. We have two seasons: Africa hot and mild Africa hot. We do NOT have 4seasons here, that’s for sure. I hope you are having a great day!

    1. So glad that you like this card, Marisela! I’ve never been to Texas, but I have lived in Africa – and I still remember the 100F plus heat! Hang in there, friend!
