Welcome to Friday, my friend! I think the sentiment on today’s card is perfect for the start to the weekend – sending you a smile. Whatever you have planned, I hope it’s good!
SENDING YOU A SMILE
I do love a good flower image, I can’t lie! The Beautiful Day stamp set by Altenew has gorgeous multi-step stamping for perfect flowers every time.
This card comes together quickly, with just a bit of masking.
Start with a panel of white cardstock, and mask off the middle portion. For doing this, I like to use my Post it masking tape, but you can use large Post it Notes, or a gentle painter’s tape. Next, create a mask for the flower. Stamp the outline image onto a large Post it Note, and cut it out with scissors. Or, if you have to matching Beautiful Day die set, you can simple die cut the flower! I have the dies, but just did the stamp & cut method.
Stamp the flower 3 times, in 3 different colour of coordinating inks. I didn’t stamp the 4th outline stamp, as I feel leaving it off gives the flowers a more natural look. The colours I chose are from Stampin’ Up!; Crushed Curry, Pumpkin Pie and Cajun Craze, for the flowers. Start with your lightest colour, then mid, and finally darkest. Put the flower mask in place, and then stamp the leaves. The leaves are stamped in Old Olive and Garden Green.
Now, remove the masks, and attach a thin gold metallic tape at the top & bottom of the sentiment area. I had this in my stash; not sure where it came from! If you don’t have a tape, you can simply draw lines with a marker and ruler. Die cut the hello using the MFT Sweet Hello dies and a die cutting machine. I die cut the word twice from Pumpkin Pie cardstock, and layered them together with my Quickie Glue Pen. Before attaching the die cut sentiment, set up your stamped panel in your stamping platform, and line up the sentiment stamp from the MFT Well, Hello stamp set. I masked off the “I’m” portion of the sentiment while inking the stamp with Cajun Craze ink. Remove the mask before stamping! Now, you can attach the die cut sentiment, and layer the panel onto a card base of Pumpkin Pie cardstock.
To finish off the card front, I added some lovely gold sequins from Studio Katia. This card would be a nice Birthday card, or just a thinking of you card.
