Shake Up Summer Scrap 'N Stamp Blog Hop

Welcome to our Shake Up Summer Scrap ‘N Stamp Blog Hop! Okay, so the pandemic has already ‘shaken up’ our usual summer plans – but we’re going to ‘stir’ things up a bit more!

Shake Up Summer Scrap 'N Stamp Blog Hop

Yes – it’s SHAKER CARDS! Everyone LOVES to receive a shaker card, no matter what their age. It’s just so much fun to see those sparkly sequins shimmy inside the shaker pouch. And the best part about THESE shakers? There’s no fuss, no muss, and no need for extra double-sided tape or acetate sheets!

Quick housekeeping before we start the Hop! To see all of the fabulous projects, simply read through this blog post, and then at the bottom of the page, you’ll see a list of all of the Design Team’s  blogs. Click on the name after mine – that’s Nancy. You’ll be taken directly to her post – which I know you’ll LOVE! But before you leave my post – be sure leave a comment – because there’s PRIZES TO BE WON! At mid-month, 3 lucky people will be randomly chosen & will each receive a FREE TONIC STUDIOS SHAKER GIFT PACK!!

RAISE A GLASS!

You are going to LOVE how easy it is to use these Tonic Studios Die & Shaker sets. Each set comes with the dies, plus 5 shaker  pouches – with double-sided adhesive already attached! Just fill the shaker pouch with your favourite bling, and you’re ready to go.

My project uses the Pint Glass Die & Shaker set – check out this fun card!

I had such fun creating this card! I went traditional with the Pint glass, making it look like a pint of beer, with a head of foam on top. Keep reading, to learn how I did this!

CARD FRONT DETAILS

First, start with a panel of white cardstock. Lay the Taylored Expressions Masking Rectangle stencil on top, and apply Ranger Distress Oxide in Vintage Photo, with a blending brush. Keep that stencil in place, and now lay the MFT Mixables – Confetti Stencil on top. Apply Fossilized Amber Distress Oxide through the stencil. Now, remove that Confetti Stencil, and lay the 2nd Confetti stencil over the rectangle mask. Use a palette knife and apply Nuvo Glimmer Paste – Moonstone – through the stencil.  Remove & wash all of the stencils (you don’t want the glimmer paste to dry on your stencil, or the palette knife).   Set this panel aside to dry.

SHAKER POUCH

On a piece of gold cardstock, layer the inside & outside pint glass dies, one inside the other. Hold in place with Purple Tape, if needed. Run through your die cutting machine – now you have your outline for the pint glass. Next, place the inner die of the pint glass onto your blended panel, and run it through the die cutter.  Attach the gold die cut pint glass to the top of the blended panel, with either liquid glue or thin double sided tape.  Now, flip this piece over, so you’re looking at the back of the panel. Attach the shaker pouch to the back, with either liquid glue or thin tape. Fill your shaker pouch with sequins. I used the Picket Fence Studios Candy Corn Shot mix for the ‘beer’ portion, and small white confetti from my stash, for the top foam portion. It’s really cool how these areas are separated, by the shape of the shaker pouch! Now,remove the adhesive backing from the shaker pouch, and attach either a piece of cardstock or acetate, to hold in the sequins.

PUT IT ALL TOGETHER!

Now you’re ready to finish off your card! I added the ‘cheers’ sentiment stamp from MFT’s a la Modes Cheers stamp set in Vintage Photo ink, randomly around the pint glass. Add the final sentiment by stamping it in Versamark ink onto white cardstock, and heat embossing in gold embossing powder.  Finally, attach the card front to a panel of gold cardstock, and then a bright green card base.

I've always liked to create things, but I'm not a great artist, or sculptor, or any type of 'traditional' artist - but I love to create! I love the satisfaction of a completed project. Whether a card, painting or other project - as long as it can create a smile, evoke a feeling, or some type of reaction in the recipient. I hope you will enjoy sharing my creations, and occasional ramblings; I'd enjoy having you create with me! :)

  7. Hola, Deb! Just wanted to say hi. We’re watching the San Antonio Spurs play in front of virtual fans. To say that San Antonio loves the Spurs is an understatement! Girl, this town shuts down when the Spurs are playing especially during the playoffs. 😊 Have a great day, my friend.
