Have You Checked Out My Blog?

This, I find, is the most difficult part of being an artist. The shameless self-promotion that we must engage in, if we want anyone to see our art – and maybe even buy it! I’m not very good at promoting myself; I tend to be very self critical. So, when I do try to promote myself, I feel that it’s very obvious. So, let’s just call it what it is – shameless self promotion!

If you received my newsletter yesterday, then you’ve already been alerted to my newest sales platform – REDBUBBLE! Yes, I’ve opened my ‘shop’ there, and uploaded several of my pieces. One of the things that REDBUBBLE can do for my art that I can’t, is that they can apply my art to a variety of surfaces. Looking for a new iPhone case? You can have one of my designs on it! How about a throw pillow? Yup – that too! Depending on the size & layout of the art piece provided, you can order anything from stickers, buttons, tote bags, zipper pouches to t-shirts, throw pillows, and blankets. Oh – and of course the obvious – cards, postcards, art panels and posters!

Just for examples, I’ve copied samples of what some of my artwork looks like, on some of those various applications. Have a look, below!

Pretty cool, right?! Of course, when you receive your product, it won’t have my watermark on it! These are just 4 of my works that I’ve added to my Redbubble shop – to see everything, and all of the ways you can order them, CLICK HERE. You’ll be taken to my shop homepage, on their site.

Of course, I also have my own online shop, right here on my blog! If you look at the top menu bar, the 3rd tab in is called “SHOP”. This is my own shop. When you click on that (or HERE, to skip a step) you’ll find a selection of Photo Cards, and Wearable Art!

Each Photo Card measures 5″ x 7″, with a professionally printed photo mounted to the front of a white archival quality card base. Of course, an envelope is included with your card order! Each photo was taken either by me, or my youngest son. We both love travel, even in our own ‘back yard’, so to speak. In the shop, when you click on a Photo Card, you’ll find a description of what the photo is, and where it was taken. You can travel to England, Scotland, Seattle, Alaska and B.C. – all without leaving your  home! Cards are blank inside, for you to add your own personal message. Here’s a photo of some of the cards you’ll find.

As mentioned, you’ll also find a selection of Wearable Art! Different types and styles of earrings and pendants, handmade by me, from my alcohol ink art! Each piece is unique, so you’ll never find someone else wearing “your” pendant. Here’s a look, below, at just a few of the pieces in store.

There’s more available in store, so be sure to check them out HERE.

If you’ve read this far – thank you! Thank you for reading my blog, subscribing to my newsletter, and if possible, purchasing  some of my art. I mean that sincerely! I do what I do for the love of it, and I do love to share it with you, as well. When I’m able to sell some of my work, it helps me out in purchasing new supplies, and maintaining this blog. So thank  you, my creative friend!

If  you have any questions or comments, please do send me an email, or leave a comment on this post! Thanks again for reading through my post on shameless self-promotion – a ‘necessary evil’.

I've always liked to create things, but I'm not a great artist, or sculptor, or any type of 'traditional' artist - but I love to create! I love the satisfaction of a completed project. Whether a card, painting or other project - as long as it can create a smile, evoke a feeling, or some type of reaction in the recipient. I hope you will enjoy sharing my creations, and occasional ramblings; I'd enjoy having you create with me! :)
