In case you haven’t already heard, I wanted to be sure you knew this! My Favorite Things, (MFT) is generously allowing us to share our gratitude to doctors & nurses on the front lines. How are they doing this? Well, for the first time ever, they’re sharing the digital images for the Birdie Brown doctors and nurses FOR FREE! It’s true – you can read about it, and get the files on their blog HERE. They’ve made 4 files, complete with images and sentiments, available for download. I think that this is an incredible gesture on their part!
DOWNLOAD, PRINT & COLOUR
I downloaded the files, and then printed the pages. Then, I pulled out my markers and started colouring.
Above, you can see some of the images that I’ve coloured, and started to cut apart. I don’t have these stamp sets or dies, so fussy cutting with scissors is in order!
The sentiment for the card below is from the Doctors Orders stamp set.
The background is created using an old sunrays stencil from my stash. I taped it to a piece of white cardstock with Purple Tape, and then started blending. Use a blending tool and apply first Mustard Seed distress ink. Next, add some Spiced Marmalade distress ink, just to the right side of the rays. Attach the stenciled panel to a card base, and then add the hand cut images and sentiment onto the front. Use some foam squares, to add more dimension.
SUPER HERO IN SCRUBS
This next card uses the Super Hero In Scrubs stamp set sentiment.
This time, the background is created using a Tim Holtz Bricked stencil. Apply a combination of Tea Dye and Fired Brick distress inks for the brick colour. Attach the blended panel to a dark red piece of cardstock, and then to a light yellow card base. As with the first card, attach the images and sentiment with foam squares or tape.
SHARE OUR GRATITUDE
The physical stamps that coordinate with these downloadable files are currently out of stock at MFT. However, you can show your gratitude to the wonderful folks at MFT by ordering other products from them! (They are still available at Scrap ‘N Stamp Canada – links below). And of course, share your gratitude with the doctors & nurses in your neighbourhood. Make some cards with these images, and share them on social media with the hashtag #mftstamps before you mail them off. This will let everyone know how much My Favorite Things, as well as our super heroes in scrubs, are appreciated!
