Simplicity for Freshly Made Sketches

Hello stamping friend! What a surprise – my posting on the weekend! LOL Well, I wanted to be sure and get my card submitted in time for this sketch challenge. Today I’m playing along with FMS366.  As they say on their challenge page “each week, one member of our design team creates a sketch for you to try, the twist is to keep your project clean-lined and fresh!” So I’m doing my best with simplicity for this Freshly Made Sketches challenge.

This is the sketch that is provided for the challenge.

As always, the sketch is the starting point; the focal shape can be changed, and the creator can use any colours, stamp sets, etc. they choose.  I decided to stay with the Christmas theme, as that’s my current mode!

I used the lovely Penny Black stamp set called Peaceful Season for my card.

To keep things simple, use the Gold Foil-Edge Cards & Envelopes for my card base. Next, add a panel of the bokeh design paper from the All is Bright Designer Series Paper.

For the focal image, set up the tree shaped sentiment from the Peaceful Season stamp set in the Stamparatus. Ink up just the words and trunk with Versamark ink. Cover them with Gold Embossing Powder, and then set with the Heat Tool. Once cooled, put the panel back into the Stamparatus, and stamp just the star in Versamark ink. Cover with some heat & stick powder, and activate it with a Heat Tool. Once the powder is sticky, cover with red Glitter, and then heat set once more.

Now attach the stamped & embossed panel onto a panel of Gold Foil paper that is 1/4″ larger, with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Finally, add this panel onto your card base, with more Dimensionals.

This card comes together quite quickly, and could be made in multiples for fast cardmaking. With the gold foil and gold embossing, it’s also a wow card – so no one will guess how easy it was for you to create.

I've always liked to create things, but I'm not a great artist, or sculptor, or any type of 'traditional' artist - but I love to create! I love the satisfaction of a completed project. Whether a card, painting or other project - as long as it can create a smile, evoke a feeling, or some type of reaction in the recipient. I hope you will enjoy sharing my creations, and occasional ramblings; I'd enjoy having you create with me! :)
