Thanks so much for joining in my colour challenge last week, for Watercooler Wednesday! I loved every card submitted – it was difficult to choose the top 3! Thanks for making my challenge a success – I’m glad you liked it 🙂
This week, Heidi is our host, and she has chosen to do a Simply Stamping challenge, with the theme of tea or coffee. That means that your card has to be ‘clean & simple’ – no multi layers, dry embossing or embellishments – just stamping at it’s purest!
I know it can be hard to keep that in mind – trust me – I did a wonderful card, but forgot to keep the Simply Stamping part of it in mind!! (and I wasn’t the only one, so at least I’m in good company!)
So, I went back to the drawing board, pulled out some old favourites, and this is what I created:
I took a 5 1/4″ x 4″ panel of Whisper White cardstock, and masked off a strip down the left side, using Post it Notes. I then sponged a light background of Crumb Cake ink using a Sponge Dauber, then used the coffee bean image from a retired stamp set called Espress Yourself, and stamped them in Early Espresso ink (see what I did there? espresso? coffee theme?! I crack myself up!!)
I then removed the Post it Note masks, and stamped the coffee cup image from the retired Perfect Blend stamp set in Early Espresso (more giggling to myself). I then stamped the sentiment on the ‘sleeve’ portion of the cup in Real Red ink. I used the spots image from the current Timeless Textures stamp set, and stamped those in Early Espresso as well; they’re supposed to be splashes of coffee.
I then glued the image panel onto the card base of Crumb Cake cardstock, added a panel of Whisper White to the inside, and stamped the inside sentiment and coffee beans in Early Espresso ink
There you have it! Clean and simple – only 1 layer, which I stamped on, and the card base.
So keep it simple, stamper, and join this week’s challenge! Go to the Watercooler Wednesday challenge page, check out what the rest of the design team has created, then link up your card! I know you can do this – I’ll be watching for you!
Just remember – keep it clean and simple!
Until next time – happy stamping!
Nice card. I like the simplicity
Thanks for your kind comment, Sandra! I’m glad that you liked my simply stamped card for the Watercooler Wednesday challenge.
