Welcome back, stamping friend, to another sketch challenge with the Paper Craft Crew! Here is the sketch for this week’s PCC#281.
I decided to stay with the bird as the focal image, but you can change it up to whatever you want!
SKETCH CHALLENGE WITH BIRD BANTER
I had such fun colouring this bird with my Stampin’ Blends Markers! 🙂
DETAILS
This card was so quick to put together, that I felt like I was cheating somehow! I pulled the coloured pattern from the Bubbles & Fizz Designer Series Paper that I got for FREE from Sale-A-Bration. I then pulled the second pattern from the same DSP, and from there I decided on my colour palette.
First, stamp the bird from the Bird Banter stamp set onto Whisper White cardstock, in Memento Black ink. This ink is the one to use, if you’re going to use the Blends alcohol markers, as it won’t bleed. Next, use the Light Daffodil Delight, Light Bermuda Bay, Light Calypso Coral Blends and the Lemon Lime Twist Stampin’ Write Marker to colour the bird. Yup – that’s pretty much every colour in the DSP! Use the Paper Snips to cut out the bird by hand.
Use the Leaf Punch (carried over from the Holiday catalogue) and punch 3 leaves in Lemon Lime Twist cardstock. I also used the retired Bird Punch for the extra leafy branch. Next, die cut the ‘celebrate’ from Bermuda Bay cardstock, using the Big Shot and the Celebrate You thinlits dies – again, FREE from Sale-A-Bration!
LAYER IT UP!
Create your card base with Lemon Lime Twist cardstock, then add a panel of Bermuda Bay cardstock. Next, layer a panel of the Lemon Lime Twist DSP from the Bubbles & Fizz DSP. The next layer you’ll create is for the focal area; another panel of Bermuda Bay cardstock, this time layered with the multi-coloured pattern from the Bubbles & Fizz DSP. Round off the top & bottom corners on the right hand side. (I used the retired Corner Rounder punch). After layering them, attach them to the card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Now attach the bird with more Dimensionals, and tuck the leaves in underneath his feet, with the Multipurpose Liquid Glue. Attach the ‘celebrate’ above, with Mini Glue Dots.
I love these bright colours on this card!
REMEMBER THE INSIDE
No card is complete without something on the inside!
The sentiment is stamped in Bermuda Bay ink onto a panel of Whisper White cardstock. Just for fun, I added the little party hat, and coloured it in Lemon Lime Twist!
