Paper Craft Crew DT Badge

Are you having as much fun with the challenges as I am?!  I love them; I find it really boosts – or challenges – my creativity by doing these each week.  The big bonus is working with such a great Design Team, and our fearless leader, Pam Staples!

I also love visiting the pages of everyone who submits a card; it’s so interesting reading about what inspired you (besides the challenge); how you chose your colours, or stamp set…  So thank you, for joining us!

This week we have another great sketch to use as our jump-off point:

PCCCS189

I decided that I wanted a bold sentiment on my banner piece, so I chose one of my favourite sets from the Annual catalogue called Perfect Pennants (pg. 65).

PCCCS189 perfect pennants

To decide on which colours to use, I started off by choosing the pattern of It’s My Party Designer Series Paper.  This is such a fun paper stack – and  you get tons of paper to use!  I decided to focus on the Melon Mambo, and went from there.

I stamped the sentiment onto Whisper White cardstock, and used my Paper Snips to create the banner tails for it, and the Basic Black cardstock behind it.  These pieces are too wide to fit our Banner Triple Punch, unfortunately.

The label piece to the side I created by using my retired Labels Framelits, and die cut a piece of Melon Mambo cardstock.  I attached it to the back of the sentiment layers, then attached those do the DSP layer.  I chose to add Basic Black cardstock layers behind the white and the DSP, as I really wanted it to stand out.  For the 2 banners across the top, I simply used a strip each of Basic Black and Melon Mambo cardstock; on the MM I stamped the dots border from the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set in MM ink.

To add a little ‘bling’, I die cut a star shape in Gold Glimmer Paper using the retired Stars Framelits, added some loops of Gold Cording behind it, and popped it on with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  The card base is of course Melon Mambo cardstock.

I think this is a fun card, and it was pretty quick to put together, too.

I hope you’ll head over to the Paper Craft Crew page and see the great cards by the rest of the Design Team – and then I hope to see you card linked up for the challenge!  You might just be our next Top Choice Winner!

Until next time – happy stamping!

I've always liked to create things, but I'm not a great artist, or sculptor, or any type of 'traditional' artist - but I love to create! I love the satisfaction of a completed project. Whether a card, painting or other project - as long as it can create a smile, evoke a feeling, or some type of reaction in the recipient. I hope you will enjoy sharing my creations, and occasional ramblings; I'd enjoy having you create with me! :)

I love to read what you have to say! Thanks for commenting ;)
