Hello there, and welcome to our sketch challenge with the Paper Craft Crew!
If you’ve never participated in a challenge before, it’s really easy, and we’d love to have you join! All you need to do is read this post (:) ) then click the link to the Paper Craft Crew page, and have a look at the cards created by the rest of the design team, for some more inspiration.
Then, you create your own card based on the sketch, then post it on your own blog, or Facebook page, or Splitcoaststampers profile; basically anywhere where we, the design team can come have a close look, and leave you a nice comment – then link back to the challenge using the easy-peasy InLinkz tool. It’s that easy!
So, let’s get you started! Here is the sketch for this week:
I love this challenge; it has a great focal point, with room for embellishments, and some ‘artistic flair’. Here is my card:
I am so glad that the Picture Perfect stamp set is being carried over to the new catalogue in June! Now, I know that the flash seems to have changed the cardstock colour, but I actually used Rose Red cardstock, and stamped the 3 step flower in Blushing Bride, Pretty in Pink, and Rose Red. The leaves were stamped in Pear Pizzazz, Old Olive and Mossy Meadow.
On top of the Rose Red card base, I attached a panel of Whisper White cardstock, after randomly stamping the spots from the Timeless Textures set, in Rose Red ink.
After stamping the leaves and flower, I used my retired Labels Framelits to die cut the piece, and layered it on top of a piece of Rose Red cardstock on which I used the Banner Triple Punch. I then cut 2 strips of cardstock, 1 Whisper White on for the sentiment, stamped in Rose Red, and the Pear Pizzazz layered under it. Between the two, I sandwiched a 1″ circle of Mossy Meadow cardstock, embossed using the Decorative Dots embossing folder.
Everything was then layered onto the card base, and a few Basic Rhinestone Embellishments were added.
That’s it for my card; I do hope you’ll join us in this week’s challenge! Be sure to see the rest of the design team’s cards at the Paper Craft Crew page, then link up your own card.
Until next time – happy stamping!
