SMALLER GIFT CARD HOLDER
Hello again, stamping friend! Yesterday I shared a gift card holder for those larger, extra plastic/packaging gift cards. Today, I’d like to share a smaller gift card holder; a version that will work with the smaller, card only gift cards. It’s a cute flap wallet style, that I saw on a Facebook page for stampers. I took the idea, and made a couple of small changes, to make my own version.
GIFT CARD WALLET STYLE HOLDER
This version is very quick to make, with no extra cutting, and just a few score lines. First, here’s what it looks like when it’s closed up.
OPEN IT UP & TUCK IN THE GIFT CARD
Once you remove the belly band, the holder flips open top & bottom, so you can write your sentiment and tuck in the gift card.
HOW TO MAKE IT
As I said earlier, this version is very easy to make; you could put together many of these in one sitting!
PAPER SIZES & SCORING MEASUREMENTS:
Real Red cardstock: 4 1/4″ x 11″, scored at 1 7/8″, 5 1/2″, and 9″
Designer Series Paper: Outside Front and Inside Flaps: Under the Mistletoe DSP (2) 4″ x 1 3/4″; Front bottom piece and Inside bottom: (2) 4″ x 3 1/4″
Whisper White cardstock: 4″ x 3 1/4″
Belly Band Strip: Under the Mistletoe DSP: 1 1/2″ x 8 1/2″
For the front sentiment, stamp the sentiment from the (retired) Among the Branches stamp set, or any set you currently have, in Real Red ink. Die cut the sentiment, plus a piece of Garden Green cardstock, using the Big Shot and the Layering Circles Framelits. Use the scallop one for the Garden Green piece.
PUTTING IT TOGETHER
Round the corners of the front and bottom flaps. I used the retired Corner Rounder Punch; the current punch you can use is the Detailed Trio Punch. Also round off the corners of the Under the Mistletoe DSP for each of those flaps. Attach the DSP to all of areas as shown in the photos above; the 2 flaps, and the bottom of the front.
Next, use your 1″ Circle Punch to punch a 1/2 circle from the bottom flap. This will make it easier to access the gift card, once it’s placed inside. Attach Tear & Tape to the inside edges only of the bottom flap; remove the backing, and adhere the flap closed.
Stamp the inside sentiment from the Ready for Christmas stamp set in Real Red ink onto the 4″ x 3 1/4″ Whisper White cardstock. Attach it to the middle of the inside of the holder with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
Now you’re ready to wrap the belly band strip of DSP around the closed gift card holder. Don’t make it too tight; you have to be able to slip it on & off easily. Hold the belly band closed with a piece of Tear & Tape. Attach the 2 layers for the sentiment together with Stampin’ Dimensionals, and then attach it to the middle front of the belly band.
And there you have it! Your gift card holder is done – in less than probably 10 minutes! The more you make, the quicker you get – and making the ‘assembly line’ style makes things even faster.
