Surprise – I’m back with a card today! Yesterday was my son’s birthday, and since he shares my sense of humour, I made him this Snarky Cats birthday card. Although he’s only in his early twenties, he complains about ‘feeling old’, so I decided to poke fun at that with the sentiment.
SNARKY CATS
If you’re a fan of Tim Holtz, then I’m sure you’re familiar with the Snarky Cats stamps. He even brought out a set just for Hallowe’en and Christmas last year! They’re lots of fun, with hilarious facial expressions and sentiments.
Too funny, right?
CARD DETAILS
Start by stamping the cat onto a piece of white cardstock in Nocturne ink. Cover it with clear embossing powder, and heat set. Next, choose your markers to colour. I used my Copic markers. Next, hand cut the cat with scissors, and set aside.
For the balloons, strings and confetti, I used an old set from Stampin’ Up! After stamping the balloons, I used a coordinating punch to punch them out. After deciding how to place them onto the cardstock panel, stamp the balloon strings, and confetti. Attach the small balloon with glue, and then attach the other balloons with foam squares or tape. Now, attach the sentiment strip along the bottom, and the cat above it, left of the balloons. To finish it off, add some sequins to the confetti.
Using the foam tape and sequins adds extra fun dimension to the card!
