Springtime in Gorgeous Grape

I don’t know about you, but I’m loving the new purples in our colour palette! From the softness of Highland Heather, to full strength in-your-face Gorgeous Grape, to the return of deepest darkest Blackberry Bliss – I’m a happy gal!

Today’s card features the glory of Gorgeous Grape; I love it’s strength and vibrancy. It’s the kind of colour you can almost feel the strength transferring from it, to you. I’m also carrying on with my feature of the Springtime Impressions Thinlits, used with the new Big Shot Embossing Mats.  Yesterday I shared a card with the butterfly from this set – you can have a look at it HERE.

This card features the large floral corner thinlit again with sponging.

Springtime in Gorgeous Grape

Create your ‘sandwich’ using the Big Shot and the Big Shot Embossing Mats. Emboss the large corner floral image with the Springtime Impressions Thinlit, on Gorgeous Grape cardstock. Once embossed, use your Sponge Dauber with Gorgeous Grape ink, to colour the highlights of the embossing. I liked adding the shadow around the edges of the embossing, for a bit more depth.

Attach your embossed panel to a larger panel of Whisper White cardstock, with Stampin’ Dimensionals. On a separate piece of Whisper White, stamp the sentiment from the Barn Door stamp set in Gorgeous Grape ink. Use the Tailored Punch to punch it out, and attach to the upper left corner of the front panel, with Dimensionals.

Finally, add  your front panels to a card base of Gorgeous Grape cardstock.

I also used the Dauber to sponge around the edges of the punched sentiment.

I just love the sentiment pairing for the front and inside, from the Barn Door stamp set. It sounds to me like an Irish proverb; maybe it is! Add a panel of Whisper White to the inside of your card, and stamp the sentiment in Gorgeous Grape ink.

I've always liked to create things, but I'm not a great artist, or sculptor, or any type of 'traditional' artist - but I love to create! I love the satisfaction of a completed project. Whether a card, painting or other project - as long as it can create a smile, evoke a feeling, or some type of reaction in the recipient. I hope you will enjoy sharing my creations, and occasional ramblings; I'd enjoy having you create with me! :)
