Hello, Stampin' Friends!

I hope you've all been keeping well, and if you live in the Lower Mainland here, I hope you've been coping well with the heat!  Well, more the humidity, I think! LOL

My teenagers don't know what I'm complaining so much about; well, when I was that young, it probably didn't bother me then, either!  Such is life, right?  Oh well….

Despite the heat, a wonderful client and new friend (I think of all my clients as friends; we have the love of stamping and creating in common, at the least) held a very successful Stampin' Up! party, with 10 guests!  Comments are that everyone had a good time, enjoyed their Make 'n' Takes and Door Prizes, and best of all – my Hostess earned $70 in Hostess Dollars – which as you know, is $70 in FREE Product from the Catalogue!  Woohoo!!!

So, I thought I'd show you just how much fun having your own Stampin' Up! Party can be – and it's so easy!!  Invite some friends and family, put out a beverage and snack (everyone loves cookies, even if they're not homemade), and let the fun begin!

First I demonstrated this card for the group:

I just love the new In Colours, don't you?!

I stamped the sentiment and chevron images from the 'Oh, Hello' stamp set (item #130733 $22.95cm/$31.95wm).  The sentiment is stamped in the new Smoky Slate, and the chevrons are stamped in Crisp Cantaloupe, Coastal Cabana and Pistachio Pudding, onto Whisper White card stock.  Then I stamped the butterflies in Crisp Cantaloupe and Coastal Cabana from Papillion Potpourri (item #123759 $17.95cm/$22.95wm) on scrap Whisper White card stock, and punched them out with the coordinating Elegant Butterfly punch (item #127526 $21.95) and adhered them onto the card front with dimensionals.

I then adhered the stamped panel onto a panel of Crisp Cantaloupe, and then adhered those onto a card base of Coastal Cabana.  I just love how the colours are so fresh, and vibrant.

I then presented this card, and another one of the same, to my Hostess and her Mom, who had kindly opened up her house for all of us to gather!  But I couldn't stop there – Hostesses are special people, and should be treated as such!  So,  I presented each of them with a special gift:

I put these gifts together using the new 'Tag a Bag Gift Boxes' (item #13092 $8.95) and coordinating Tag a Bag Accessory Kit (item #130153 $9.95) both on page 158 of the new Annual Catalogue.  Everything was there for me to wrap up these gifts – fast & fabulous, just the way I like it!!  The only extra Stampin' Up! item I used were the 2 sentiment stamps, which are from the Chalk Talk stamp set (item #130634 $22.95cm/$31.95wm).  I just added my own little gifts, and they were done 🙂  (another time I'll share with you how I stamped on the tea light candles!)

Next, everyone got to get into the action with this card as the Make 'n' Take:

Here we combined the Chalk Talk stamp set, and the coordinating Chalk Talk Framelits (item#129983 $30.95) so everyone had a chance to try out the Big Shot (item #113439 $122.95), and see how easy, fast & fun it is to use!

We started with a Whisper White card base, and added a panel of Pumpkin Pie card stock embossed with the Modern Mosaic embossing folder (item #129984 $9.95).  We then adhered the largest tag form cut from Quatrefancy Specialty designer series paper (item #130141 $15.95).  Next, we stamped the sentiment in Island Indigo from Chalk Talk onto Whisper White card stock, and cut it out with the same large tag form in the Chalk Talk Framelits.  After adhering that with dimensionals, we added a bit of 3/8" Taffeta Ribbon in Whisper White (item #109070 $9.50) onto the top, as a 'faux' tag.

I had brought assorted ink pads, stamp sets, etc, so everyone had fun trying them out, and decorating their envelopes (can't have a naked envelope!).

I almost forgot – I'm sure you'd like to see what some of the door prizes were, wouldn't you?

Well here's a few of them (sorry, I didn't get pictures of all of them)

So – easy, fun, and free products – what's not to like about a Stampin' Up! party, right?!

I've always liked to create things, but I'm not a great artist, or sculptor, or any type of 'traditional' artist - but I love to create! I love the satisfaction of a completed project. Whether a card, painting or other project - as long as it can create a smile, evoke a feeling, or some type of reaction in the recipient. I hope you will enjoy sharing my creations, and occasional ramblings; I'd enjoy having you create with me! :)

I love to read what you have to say! Thanks for commenting ;)
