My swap cards are ready, my bags is (almost) packed, and I'm rarin' to go! This is my first Stampin' Up! event, and I'm really looking forward to learning new tips and techniques, trying out new stamp sets and products, meeting lots of other SU! demonstrators, and taking tons of pictures!! (okay – and doing some shopping on the way there & home! lol)
The great thing, that I think about Stampin' Up! events, is that you get to be there surrounded with people who enjoy paper crafting, talking about your SU! business, getting tips, ideas and strategies from people who enjoy the same thing as you do – stamping!
If you would like to enjoy these experiences too, you can – just join my team, and become a Stampin' Up! demo yourself! For more information on how to sign up, give me a call or send me an email at 604 298 0472 or debsmart@shaw.ca , or you can sign up directly by going to my SU! page at www.stampandcreate.stampinup.net and clicking on 'Join the Fun'!
So, I promise to share the pictures I take, and the experiences, from Tacoma with you when I get back! In the meantime, here's the cards that I made that I will be swapping.
This first one was easy and fun to make! After embossing the Whisper White card stock with the Holiday Frame embossing folder, I used a sponge dauber to rub Shimmer Paint over the embossed areas, giving it a wonderful shimmer! This was then layered on top of Cherry Cobbler card stock. I cut a 'banner' of DSP from Be of Good Cheer and placed it across the centre of the Holiday Frame. It was easy to stamp the red oval, then the reindeer both from the Joyous Celebrations stamp set, then punch it out with the Oval punch. I stamped the red bow (also from the Joyous Celebrations set) and fussy cut it with my paper snips. All the layers were popped up with dimensionals on the Whisper White layer.
Recipe: Cardstock – Whisper White, Cherry Cobbler. DSP: Be of Good Cheer. Ink: Cherry Cobbler, Crumb Cake, Shimmer Paint. Stamps: Joyous Celebrations. Other: Holiday Frame Embossing Folder, Oval Punch. This card is for the SUDSOL swap; this is a group that I belong to, for Stampin' Up! demonstrators only (it stands for Simply Unique Demonstrators Sharing OnLine). The base is Very Vanilla cardstock, with a layer of Lucky Limeade across the centre. On the top & bottom of the Lucky Limeade is strips of the Glimmer Paper in Champagne Mist – I used the Eyelit Border punch for a fancy effect on the top layer – isn't it beautiful?! I cut 3 'banners' from the Festival of Prints DSP pack – this pack is fabulous – it has so many different colours & designs of papers, making it very versatile & easy to use! The ornaments were stamped in Cherry Cobbler and Lucky Limeade with the Ornament Keepsakes stamp set, and cut out with the matching Holiday Ornament Framelits. I stamped the centre of the Cherry Cobbler ornament with Versamark, and heat embossed it with Gold Embossing Powder, using the Heat Tool. It ties in with the gold shades in the Glimmer Paper, and in the DSP. The sentiment was stamped in Cherry Cobbler using the More Merry Messages stamp set. Recipe: Cardstock – Very Vanilla, Lucky Limeade, Cherry Cobbler. DSP – Festival of Prints. Glimmer Paper – Champagne Mist. Stamps – More Merry Messages, Ornament Keepsakes. Inks – Lucky Limeade, Cherry Cobbler, Versamark. Tools – Holiday Ornament Framelits, Eyelit Border Punch, Heat tool. Other – Gold Embossing Powder. I really hope that everyone enjoys receiving these card swaps, as much as I enjoyed making them! And I hope you enjoyed seeing them 🙂 I'll be back from the convention on Sunday evening, so I'll be posting an update on Monday! Until then – Happy Stamping to you!

Great-looking swaps! I’ll be at the Tacoma regional too. Maybe I’ll see you there!
