Hello, Stamping Friends!

I hope you're enjoying your weekend!  I had a great start to my weekend – last night was the first night of our Technique Junquies Club 'Funky Fridays'!

This club will be meeting once a month, and is dedicating to learning new techniques – inking, stamping, embossing, colouring, paper-folding; anything that piques our interest, we'll give it a try!  Each of the Club members is given their own binder, and at each meeting receive sheets with written instructions for that night's techniques.  There's a space on the sheets to attach a sample of each technique.  And the sheets are protected in page protectors – because some of the techniques can turn into some inky, messy fun!

After finishing the techniques, we put together a card using at least one of the techniques we practiced; here's a picture of the card we did last night.  Can you guess which techniques we used?

If you guessed Shaving Cream and Bleaching, you're right!!

The top banner is cut from my Shaving Cream technique cardstock, and we used the Bleaching technique with a stamp from the new catalogue called 'Blended Bloom', which lends itself beautifully to this technique.

Here's some fun picture of the ladies practicing the Shaving Cream technique; everyone thought it was so much fun to do, and were amazed at the results!

Here's Susan (left) and Lynn (right) having fun with swirling the re-inkers πŸ™‚

Amanda (left) and Debbie (right) are concentrating to get just the right amount of swirls!

This is what my pan looked like, before I placed the cardstock on top

It was messy, and we all decided that we didn't care for the overwhelming smell of men's shaving cream, but it sure was fun!!

Here are the ladies with their completed cards – didn't they do a great job?!

It's great to see how, even though we all used the same re-inker colours, shaving cream and other supplies, our cards all look a little different – but all fantastic!  I can't wait until next month's class! πŸ™‚

In the meantime, I'll be putting the finishing touches on my preparations for my upcoming Open House next Friday, May 30th.  I hope that if you live in the area, you'll come by, say 'hi', and check out the newest products, colours, samples and of course enjoy some refreshments!  Just send me a quick email (debsmart@shaw.ca) so that I can ensure enough Make & Takes and supplies for everyone.

Until next time – Happy Stamping!

I've always liked to create things, but I'm not a great artist, or sculptor, or any type of 'traditional' artist - but I love to create! I love the satisfaction of a completed project. Whether a card, painting or other project - as long as it can create a smile, evoke a feeling, or some type of reaction in the recipient. I hope you will enjoy sharing my creations, and occasional ramblings; I'd enjoy having you create with me! :)

I love to read what you have to say! Thanks for commenting ;)
