This makes me happy! When a project comes out just as it was envisioned, or even better. It doesn’t always happen, as we know. But this time, I’m ridiculously happy with how my Beach Crab II turned out. And it coordinates beautifully with the large Beach Crab, and the Seahorse!
BEACH CRAB II
If you missed it, you can read about the original Beach Crab in THIS POST. I’ll share a photo of it below.
That’s the first Beach Crab, in a 13″ x 17″ frame. When I first painted and resined the large crab above, I also did a small crab. That’s the one that I’ve now named Beach Crab II.
Beach Crab II is 7.5″ x 9.5″, inside a white 11″ x 9″ frame. There are differences besides the size; Beach Crab II doesn’t have any sand, and the background is a combination of a printed vinyl plus resin. They are the same in that each crab is 1/8″ laser cut wood, and there are real shells and acrylic ‘bubbles’ added to the piece.
Here’s another look from the side – I just love the dimension!
As I mentioned, these 2 crab pieces also coordinate with my new Seahorse!
The colours coordinate, as does the design with real sea shells, and acrylic ‘bubbles’. However, instead of being framed, the Seahorse is on a 6″ x 12″ wood cradle board. I always think that coordination in your art pieces is better, rather than ‘matchy-matchy’. After all, if you wanted your art identical, then you could just buy multiples of the same thing!
I’ll have Beach Crab II listed in my Shop in the coming days. But right now, you can find Beach Crab HERE and the Seahorse HERE. Thank you for supporting me, both in visiting my site here, purchasing from my Shop, and also sharing it with your friends. I do appreciate you very much!
