Hello stamping friend.

I had planned to use today to tell you about the craft garage sale I participated in yesterday, but I’m going to put that aside until tomorrow.

Today, I just need to share that my heart hurts, terribly, for the people, their family, friends and loved ones, who were senselessly killed and injured in the shooting in the Pulse nightclub in Orlando, Florida, last night.

I don’t know what is going on in the world; there seems to be a general, total lack of regard for human life.  No respect.  No tolerance.  And that’s what makes me so sad.

We need to practice more understanding, tolerance and acceptance of others.  Regardless of sexual orientation, race, religion, or anything else – we all deserve respect, and life.   We are all ‘a fabulous work of art’.

So, in today’s post, I just want to share this card that I felt compelled to make today, for the people of Orlando, who are suffering the consequences of one man’s deranged thoughts.

My thoughts & prayers to you, people of Orlando, and also with all members of the LGBTQ community.  This heinous act of murder is a reflection only of the person who committed it; not on the people it was perpetrated against.

I've always liked to create things, but I'm not a great artist, or sculptor, or any type of 'traditional' artist - but I love to create! I love the satisfaction of a completed project. Whether a card, painting or other project - as long as it can create a smile, evoke a feeling, or some type of reaction in the recipient. I hope you will enjoy sharing my creations, and occasional ramblings; I'd enjoy having you create with me! :)

    1. Jeena, thank you for your kind comment. It’s heartwarming to know I’m not the only one feeling this way.

  1. Hi Deb,
What an eloquent statement and a beautiful card. Your thoughts are some of the most beautiful words I have read or heard. I live in Orlando and attended the vigil this evening. “The City Beautiful” as Orlando is known is a city in shock. Many people know Orlando as the home of the theme parks, which are actually quite a distance from the city of Orlando. This is the most diverse and tolerant city I know, aside from Manhattan. So, such an act of violence and hate was never expected here. I thank you for your kind thoughts and for making such a lovely card. Your words and actions have touched my heart.

    1. Laura, thank you for your kind words. I cannot imagine what you’re experiencing being so close to where this tragedy happened. I hope that the vigil helped bring some sense of peace and closeness for the survivors. The healing will take time; I just hope that changes happen so no one has to ever go through his again. Take care

  2. Deborah, what a beautiful card. And expressing what we are all feeling right now after what happened in Orlando.

    1. Thanks, Susan for your nice comment. I’ve been feeling very disheartened with all the awful things going on in the world; every day seems like a new terrible thing has happened. Making this card helped me a bit; I hope others are helped knowing that someone does care. Thank you, my friend! ♥

    1. Thank you so much for your comment, Lillian. It is nice to know that others are feeling the same way. I hope you have a good week!
