THROWBACK THURSDAY
Since I managed to throw out my back 2 days ago, I thought that this is an appropriate time for a Throwback Thursday post-emphasis on the back! Seriously – how does bending down to towel dry your hair = back going out?! If this is getting old, I’ve decided against it, okay? I’ll just back up a few years, and stay there! *Sigh* Not that it would do be any good – I’ve thrown my back out before, by doing strenuous activities. You know, like tying my shoelaces. Or emptying the dishwasher. I could probably safely climb a mountain, but heaven forbid I dry my hair!
Okay – enough of that rant (I think). Since my back isn’t agreeable to my stretching & leaning forward to stamp something new right now, I’ve decided to do a ‘throwback Thursday’ with a set that’s still current. It’s a holiday set that has carried over from the 2017 Holiday catalogue, called Ready for Christmas.
READY FOR CHRISTMAS
When this stamp set first came out last year, you were able to purchase it as a Bundle, which of course I did! You can no longer get the Bundle pricing, but the Christmas Staircase Thinlits are still available! You’ll want to order both, so that you can create fun 3D scenes with this set.
This card is a trifold card – you can see that I went all out and used almost all of the elements in the set! I loved creating the scene, with the cute daschund checking out the cookies for Santa on the front panel. The right side front panel has the decorated Christmas tree, complete with presents. I used the Big Shot with the Christmas Staircase Thinlits, and die cut the branches for the tree, and glued them onto the die cut tree outline. The colouring was done using our Stampin’ Write Markers – this was before we had the Blends Markers!
TRIFOLD CARD OPEN
I stamped the sentiment on one inside panel, and left the other blank, for writing a greeting. On the centre panel, I attached the die cut staircase, and decorated it with stamped, coloured and die cut stockings and garland, Even the pictures are stamped and die cut!
This Ready for Christmas set is a lot of fun to use. You can read more information on how I created this card in THIS POST from last year.
COOKIES FOR SANTA
Or are the cookies for this adorable Dachshund? This is another card I created with the Ready for Christmas stamp set and Christmas Staircase Thinlits.
You can easily recreate this card this year; just change out the background DSP for a current pattern! Use our wonderful new Blends Markers or the Watercolor Pencils for colouring, to change it up. If you know someone who actually has a Dachshund dog as a pet, they would be thrilled to receive this card!
You can read all the details about creating this card in THIS POST from last year.

You’re not truly old until you throw your back out while sneezing and pee a little at the same time. So you’re good! Love both cards, but the dachsund really pings my heart! Hope you feel better soon!
Ha Ha Ha!! Let’s hope I don’t get there any time soon, Buffy! My back is improving, as long as I don’t sit for any length of time (or stand. or move. or do anything.)
