Time Flies While Creating

Wow, things certainly got busy for me! I didn’t realize that I haven’t posted here since last Wednesday. Time flies when you’re busy creating, that’s for sure. I’ve finished one new project, and have a couple more on the go. That’s when I know I’m having fun; the more the merrier, right? Today I’m going to share my new Sea Life Magnets.

SEA LIFE MAGNETS

I had ordered these wood shapes at the same time as I had ordered the clock base – and I’ve just finished them! If you can’t remember the Clock I did, you can see it in my Shop HERE.  I had finished it back in February. I hadn’t decided what to do with these smaller shapes until just last week. These shapes are a bit too big (I think) for keychains. I haven’t done any magnets, so I thought why not some beach theme magnets to go with my other beach theme items.

There are 2 of each; Starfish, Orca, Turtle and Surfboard. I did some with real sand and shells, and some without, just for variety.  The water is created with a deep blue and turquoise, and a white pigment for waves and foam in the water.

Each is 4″ in length or height, and between 1″ – 4″ in length/width. The ‘skinniest’ of course is the surf board; the largest is the starfish. I also have 2 sand dollars, but haven’t finished them yet.

On the back of each is a single, strong magnet, for attaching to any metal (except my stainless steel fridge – they don’t stick to that!). The backs are painted with a white acrylic paint.

CLOSE UP LOOK

In the photo below you can see a close up of the waves, and 3D texture of the sand and shells.

HAVE THE SEA WITH YOU

With these fun magnets, you can have the sea & beach in your house, without the mess! They also make a great gift for the beach/sea lover in your life, as well.

These are available in my SHOP for purchase. I have limited stock on hand, so grab yours now, before they sell out!

I've always liked to create things, but I'm not a great artist, or sculptor, or any type of 'traditional' artist - but I love to create! I love the satisfaction of a completed project. Whether a card, painting or other project - as long as it can create a smile, evoke a feeling, or some type of reaction in the recipient. I hope you will enjoy sharing my creations, and occasional ramblings; I'd enjoy having you create with me! :)
