Two Week Sketch Challenge

Welcome to a new challenge with the Paper Craft Crew Design Team! This time we have a two week sketch challenge for you, so there’s plenty of time for you to get ready for Easter and play along. First, let’s have a look at the sketch.

Two Week Sketch Challenge

This sketch gives you lots of room for imagination! Use your choice of stamps, colours, shapes and embellishments. You can flip the sketch sideways, or upside down, if you want. Just make sure that the basic sketch is easily recognizable when you’re done.

I decided to stick with the basic sketch, with a few minimal changes. I used the cute Beach Bunnies stamp set by My Favorite Things, since we’re getting close to Easter.

Two Week Sketch Challenge

How’s this for a sunny, bunny cute card? I just can’t help but smile when I see these bunnies. And to match with spring weather, I went with some sunny yellow and blue.

First, start with a stitched square die cut from white cardstock. Stamp the 2 little bath houses onto the panel in Memento Tuxedo Black ink, and colour with your favourite medium. I used my SU! Blends alcohol markers. Next, use the matching Beach Bunnies Dies to die cut the 2 houses from masking paper or Post it notes, and mask off the houses. Blend green ink for grass along the bottom, and blue at the top, for the sky. The colours I chose are Shabby Shutters and Mowed Lawn Distress Inks for the grass, and Broken China for the sky, using Life Changing Blender Brushes.

On a separate piece of white cardstock, stamp the shell twice, the ice cream cone and the bunny from the Beach Bunnies stamp set, in Memento Tuxedo Black ink. Colour all of the images, again with your favourite medium. Once you’re done colouring, use the Beach Bunnies Dies to die cut all of the images, and set them aside for a minute.

On a light blue card base, attach a yellow cardstock panel. Next, layer a strip of the same blue cardstock under a layer of patterned paper, and glue them across the middle of the card front. Layer your stamped panel on top of a 1/4″ larger square of the blue cardstock, and attach them over the two strips, using foam squares or tape.

Now, glue on the 2 shells to the bottom of the stamped square, and attach your bunny to  the right front corner. Glue the ice cream cone into the bunny’s hand, and then add a few sequins to your card front.

I've always liked to create things, but I'm not a great artist, or sculptor, or any type of 'traditional' artist - but I love to create! I love the satisfaction of a completed project. Whether a card, painting or other project - as long as it can create a smile, evoke a feeling, or some type of reaction in the recipient. I hope you will enjoy sharing my creations, and occasional ramblings; I'd enjoy having you create with me! :)
