I’ve said it before; ‘vintage’ is not a theme I do well, or often! So when I saw that this week is a Very Vintage theme challenge for the Paper Craft Crew – I balked! Then I thought ‘well, it’s called a challenge for a reason’! So are you ready to be challenged?
VERY VINTAGE THEME CHALLENGE
That’s it! You choose the colours, the stamp sets, and layout. Just stay within the ‘very vintage’ theme, and join the fun! Hey – if I can do it, so can you!
TUSCAN VINEYARD
I just recently received this set; it’s been on my ‘wish list’ for a while, but after getting the Half Full stamp set, I knew I had to finally order the Tuscan Vineyard set to go with it!
I thought that keeping the colours muted, and not colouring in the vineyard scene would help me stay within the ‘vintage’ look.
DETAILS
To stay with muted colours, choose a base of Very Vanilla, instead of White White. Cut 2 panels of cardstock; Crumb Cake and Old Olive (see what I did there?! LOL). Tear the bottom edge of each panel by hand, then with a Sponge Dauber and the Soft Suede ink pad, sponge ink on all sides of both panels, plus on the Very Vanilla card base.
Next, stamp the vineyard scene in Crumb Cake ink onto a piece of Very Vanilla. Use the Stitched Shapes Framelits and Big Shot to die cut the scene. On other scraps of Very Vanilla, stamp the olive branch in Old Olive ink, and the round label in Elegant Eggplant ink. Use the 1″ Circle Punch for the label, and Paper Snips to hand cut the olive branch.
Measure out a length of Lace Trim, and sponge the Soft Suede ink on top of it, to mute the colour a bit.
PUTTING IT TOGETHER
This is the easy part! Attach the Old Olive panel with Stampin’ Dimensionals, to the Crumb Cake panel. Wrap a length of the Lace Trim around the top of the 2 panels, attaching in the back with Tear & Tape. Now, attach the Crumb Cake panel to the card base with Multipurpose Liquid Glue. The olive branch and label are attached with Dimensionals as well.
I didn’t take a picture of the inside, but you can see just inside the picture above, that the olive branch is stamped in the upper left corner inside. I also stamped it in the bottom right corner.
