Can you believe it  –  a whole year of amazing-ness!!

Yes, my stamping friends – this is the 1st Anniversary of the Wacky Watercooler's Blog Hops!  We're still going strong, and we hope you're going to continue joining us for monthly sharing of amazing and creative projects to help get your creative mojo going 🙂

If this is your first time joining in a Wacky Watercooler Blog Hop – welcome!  (be sure to check  all the previous months too, so you're not missing out on anything!).  The Blog Hop goes in a circular fashion, so no matter where you started, as long as you keep clicking the "NEXT" button at the bottom of each blog, you'll go all the way 'round through all the blogs, back to where you started.  Of course if you're a rebel, you can click 'PREVIOUS', and go backwards through the Hop! 🙂  We like ALL kinds of personalities – probably because we ARE all kinds of personalities in this group!

If you've done the 'conventional' way, you've come to my blog from the fabulous Heidi Weaver's blog; I'm not exaggerating using the word 'fabulous', am I?!  I always enjoy seeing what Heidi has created.  If you're doin' the reverse direction, then you'll have already seen the creative genius that is Marsha Reed!

With this being our 1st Anniversary, I was going to make it a 'party' theme….but then thought, well, I did just do a 'confetti' party type theme on the last blog hop I did with a different group.

So, I decided to focus on the friendships I have made with this group of amazing ladies who belong to the 'Watercooler'.  The 'cooler gang has been around a lot longer than a year; that's just when we started doing the blog hops.  I've been fortunate enough to be a member of the group for almost 3 years now (time flies when you're having fun!).  I do mean 'fortunate', for this group of ladies, even though I've only 'known' them online, I am blessed to call my friends!  This is the kind of group that  you can bring your funny stories, your sad stories, your 'can you believe this?!' stories; not to mention your questions, problems, concerns; your 'I did it!' and 'rats, I blew it'; and you can always get the support, kindness and generosity you'd expect from any of your closest friends!

Here is my first card, using the 'Lullaby'and '2013-2015 Backgrounds' Designer Series Papers to do the 'Starburst' technique.

The card base is Baked Brown Sugar cardstock, embossed with the Fancy Fan Embossing Folder.  Using the Labels Collection Framelits, I cut the smallest size in Crisp Cantaloupe cardstock, and layered that behind the sentiment stamped from the Flower Patch stamp set.  A Rhinestone Basic Jewel on either side, coloured with the Crisp Cantaloupe Marker finishes it off.   As I said earlier – the ladies in this group are AWESOME! 🙂

My next card is interactive, and pretty fun – no matter what your age! 🙂

This is a spinner card!  I started with a cheery card base of Coastal Cabana cardstock, then using my Stamp-a-ma-jig to line up the words, repeatedly stamped 'Cheers' across the Whisper White panel in Coastal Cabana, Crisp Cantaloupe and Strawberry Slush.  I love how there's an exclamation point after the word 🙂  I used my Baked Brown Sugar, Crisp Cantaloupe and Pistachio  Pudding markers to colour in the drink and olive stamps, and stamped onto Whisper White cardstock.  I then punched it out using the Curly Label punch, and then backed it with a 2 3/8" Scallop Circle punched in Coastal Cabana.

In this picture you can see how the drink spins over to the other side of the card when it is tipped – such fun! After putting the panels together, I decided that it needed a little something more – so In Colour Sequins to the rescue!  The only stamp set used for this card was Happy Hour – a favourite I've had since it first came out over a year ago 🙂  I think this card properly says "Cheers!", a toast to my friends in the Watercooler gang!

For my final card, I wanted to try a unique step-card layout that I saw a while ago.  I hope you like it!

This is how the card looks when open; you can see the 'steps' on the left side of the card.  I couldn't resist dipping into my Blendabilities markers to colour the beautiful flowers and leaves!  The largest flower is from the set Choose Happiness, as are the leaves and the sentiment; the smaller flowers are from the stamp set Everything Eleanor.  First I stamped the flowers on Whisper White cardstock in Blackberry Bliss ink, then using the Rich Razzleberry Assortment coloured them in.  The leaves were coloured using the Old Olive Assortment.  The flower centres were coloured with the Daffodil Delight Assortment, using only the medium and light markers. I added more dimension to the card by stamping and cutting 2 of the large flowers, and by fussing cutting the branch with leaves and popping them all up with Dimensionals.

Here you can see how the card looks closed; all the important elements are still visible.  I didn't want any Designer Series Paper taking away from the flowers, so I made my own background using the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set, and Lost Lagoon, Hello Honey and Blackberry Bliss ink pads.  The sentiment is stamped in Blackberry Bliss ink on Whisper White cardstock; I used a retired border punch to add some interest to each end, then sponged more Blackberry Bliss around the edges with a Sponge Dauber.

I think this card says it perfectly about my friends in the Wacky Watercooler; whether they participate in these Hops or not; "When I need a friend, you're there."   Thanks for being there, my friends!!

And thank  you to you, my stamping friends, for following my blog, showing me your support as a reader and with your comments; every visit and comment is greatly treasured by me!

Be sure to continue on with the Hop now – click 'NEXT' to see the incredible creations of Marsha Reed, or click 'PREVIOUS' if you're heading towards Heidi's terrific post.

All the products I've used are pictured at the very bottom of the page; if you'd like to order any, please click on the image to be taken straight to my store.

Until next time – Happy Stamping!

I've always liked to create things, but I'm not a great artist, or sculptor, or any type of 'traditional' artist - but I love to create! I love the satisfaction of a completed project. Whether a card, painting or other project - as long as it can create a smile, evoke a feeling, or some type of reaction in the recipient. I hope you will enjoy sharing my creations, and occasional ramblings; I'd enjoy having you create with me! :)
