Walk With Me

Walk with me. I’m back again today with another card created using the Cozy Cottage stamp set, but today – there’s no cottage in sight! I really like that this stamp set has other images that you can use as focal points, such as the brick wall and gate, that I used.

WALK WITH ME

Walk With Me

In yesterday’s post, I mentioned about the sunshine we’ve had, and the beautiful mountain and water scenery we enjoy here. So again, I’m staying with the ‘mountain’ theme; or perhaps this little path winds it way down to the water? What do you think?

DETAILS

Use Memento Tuxedo Black ink to stamp the image onto Whisper White cardstock. Next, ink up just the brick path portion on cottage image stamp, and stamp it above the gate. This gives the illusion of the path continuing from one side to the other. Perhaps from the tame, to the wild? I am being wistful, as I’m typing this late at night! I’m going to blame it on losing an hour’s sleep, having to ‘spring forward’.

Use the Smoky Slate Combo Pack of Blends Markers to colour the bricks, and the stones in the path. The Dark Smoky Slate is used to add the shading and depth to the bricks. For the gate, use the Crumb Cake Combo Pack of Blends, and the Light Crumb Cake Blends for the path.

Next, stamp the sentiment onto a piece of Whisper White in Garden Green ink. This sentiment is what prompted the card design; I do love walks with friends, and really wanted to use the sentiment.

DIE CUTTING & LAYERING

Use the Big Shot and the Bunch of Banners Framelits to die cut the sentiment. After cutting, sponge the edges with a Sponge Dauber and the Garden Green ink pad. The stamped image and background are die cut with the Layering Ovals Framelits; the background is from the Wood Textures Designer Series Paper.

Cut a 2″ x 4″ banner from the retired Painted Autumn Designer Series Paper. Create the banner tails on one end with the Banner Triple Punch. Attach the banner to the middle of a panel of Coffee Break Designer Series Paper – green stripes pattern.

Now you can layer the stamped image and the sentiment onto the panel using Stampin’ Dimensionals. Finally attach the panel to a Garden Green cardstock base.

I've always liked to create things, but I'm not a great artist, or sculptor, or any type of 'traditional' artist - but I love to create! I love the satisfaction of a completed project. Whether a card, painting or other project - as long as it can create a smile, evoke a feeling, or some type of reaction in the recipient. I hope you will enjoy sharing my creations, and occasional ramblings; I'd enjoy having you create with me! :)
