WE NEED A COFFEE BREAK
Coffee breaks, or any time spent with friends are not only good times, but I think they are necessary! Necessary for our feeling of connected-ness , to hear and be heard. Of course you don’t have to have actual coffee, but in my case, I always do. (unless it’s wine – then I’ll do wine!). So today’s card is about that – telling a friend ‘we need a coffee break’ is a way of saying ‘we need time together’.
ANY TIME, ANY WHERE
Whether it’s a coffee shop, coffee cart, or fancy restaurant – as long as the coffee is good, I’m there!
It was fun to create this little scene, using the MFT (My Favorite Things) Friends at First Sip stamp and dies set. I love that there are coordinating dies, to give you more freedom for colouring and placement of the images.
CARD FRONT DETAILS
First, stamp the images onto a piece of white cardstock, in Memento Tuxedo Black ink. Choose your favourite alcohol markers for colouring; I used my Stampin’ Up! Blends markers. After colouring the images, die cut them using the coordinating Friends at First Sip dies and Big Shot.
Next, cut a panel of white cardstock, and blend in some blue sky. Use the Life Changing Blender Brushes with Tumbled Glass and Broken China Distress inks. Now cut 3 pieces of light green cardstock to the same width as the panel, but at 3 different heights. I used the Lawn Fawn Grassy Border die. Use a blending tool, and blend some Mowed Lawn Distress ink onto the 3 strips of grass. Now you can layer the grass panels onto your white cardstock panel, with liquid glue.
Attach your die cut images with foam squares or tape, for more dimension. Stamp the sentiment, also from the Friends at First Sip stamp set, in blue ink, and attach the strip with foam tape.
The die cuts and layers of grass create some fun dimension on this card! And with the matching die cuts, it comes together quite quickly.
GIVE YOURSELF A COFFEE BREAK
Take some time for yourself and a friend – I highly recommend it! You can also stamp while you sip – that’s even more therapeutic 🙂 If you’d like to purchase some of the products I used to create this card, I’ve attached some links for you, below.
