Welcome to the Polka-Hop!

It’s April, and we’re hopping like a bunny! Or in my case, a giraffe on a pogo stick (stay tuned – you’ll see what I mean!). Welcome to our Scrap ‘N Stamp Polka-Hop Blog Hop!  We’re all about ‘spring’ in every sense of the word, as in the season, the motion, and celebrations that happen during Spring. So grab a snack, settle in, and enjoy!

Welcome to the Polka Hop!

ENJOY THE POLKA-HOP!

It’s super easy to enjoy our Hop! Simply read through the blog posts, “ooh” and “aah” at the projects, and then leave a comment before hopping over to the next blog. Leaving a comment does 2 things; first, we appreciate everything you have to say about how you’re enjoying our projects  ♥ Second, it automatically enters you into a random draw, to win a prize! At the bottom of this post you’ll find a list of all the participating blogs, so that you don’t miss out.  One lucky person will be randomly drawn around mid-month from all commenters, to WIN a from Scrap ‘N Stamp!

A GIRAFFE ON A POGO STICK

I said that you’d see what I mean about this! I chose the uber-cute MFT Jumping Giraffe stamp set for my card!

Welcome to the Polka-Hop!

How cute is this?! I’d love to have a pogo-stick hopping giraffe show up at my birthday party!

CARD DETAILS

For the ‘polka dots’, I used my MFT Confetti Stencil Set. This set has 2 stencil sheets, that you can use together or separately. I used both; you can see that they overlap in some spots (pun not intended), making it more fun.

For the background panel, lay the first stencil over a piece of white cardstock. Use a blending brush or tool to apply Salty Ocean Distress Ink through the stencil. Now remove the 1st stencil, and lay the 2nd stencil over the panel. Blend Mustard Seed through this stencil. Put this piece aside for now.

On a smaller piece of white cardstock, stamp the giraffe in Nocturne ink, cover with clear embossing powder, and heat set. Use your favourite markers to colour in the giraffe. Now, stamp another giraffe onto copy paper, and cut out with scissors. This will be your mask for the giraffe. Place the mask over the giraffe image, and then place one of the stencils on top. Apply Mustard Seed ink over top. Now, die cut the giraffe image with an oval die, and another one in a dark blue cardstock, slightly larger. Layer them together, using foam tape or squares. Stamp the sentiment in Nocturne ink, and repeat the heat embossing with clear powder.

Layer all of your pieces together, adding a bright yellow layer behind the polka dot layer, and a blue card base.

Welcome to the Polka Hop!

This card will make anyone smile!

I've always liked to create things, but I'm not a great artist, or sculptor, or any type of 'traditional' artist - but I love to create! I love the satisfaction of a completed project. Whether a card, painting or other project - as long as it can create a smile, evoke a feeling, or some type of reaction in the recipient. I hope you will enjoy sharing my creations, and occasional ramblings; I'd enjoy having you create with me! :)
