What's New, Pussycat?

Hands up if you read that title, and then immediately sang “whoa, whoa, whoa” in your mind! I knew I was going to write about some new things today, and for some reason What’s New, Pussycat popped into my head. *you’re welcome* Always happy to share an ear-worm with friends!  Anyway, there’s a few new things I wanted to share with you, from around the internet.

The devastating fires in Australia have everyone’s hearts breaking, and praying for some relief for the people, pets and wildlife. While I’m sure everyone is aware of the usual aid agencies, like the Red Cross, etc., there is an Australian charity called WIRES that you can donate to directly. Taken directly from their site, here is some information on WIRES.

WIRES (NSW Wildlife Information, Rescue and Education Service Inc.) has been rescuing and caring for native animals for over 30 years.  We have over 2500 volunteers in 28 branches involved in the rescue and care of wildlife and we have a dedicated Rescue Office that operates 365 days a year assisting the community to help native animals in distress.

WIRES has asked for donations directly to their Emergency Funds account HERE.

If you’re the kind of crafter who knows how to knit, sew or crochet, there are Facebook groups that have come together to make joey pouches, bat wraps, hanging  pouches and more. If you’re in Canada, you can join the Canadian Animal Rescue Craft group HERE, and if you’re in the U.S., there’s a group that seems to be mainly people in the U.S. HERE, and then there’s the  Animal Rescue Collective Craft Guild, which seems to be world-wide, and where the other groups sprung from. Their Facebook group is HERE – I think they have one of the largest sources of patterns for all of the items needed, as well as updates directly from the ‘front lines’.

While we all send our ‘thoughts & prayers’, we know those aren’t enough. We need to send help! Thank you for considering doing this ♥

I've always liked to create things, but I'm not a great artist, or sculptor, or any type of 'traditional' artist - but I love to create! I love the satisfaction of a completed project. Whether a card, painting or other project - as long as it can create a smile, evoke a feeling, or some type of reaction in the recipient. I hope you will enjoy sharing my creations, and occasional ramblings; I'd enjoy having you create with me! :)

I love to read what you have to say! Thanks for commenting ;)
