When life gives you a rainy day – play in the puddles! This sentiment is so cute, and fun. And very appropriate for our weather, right now! Yesterday was a VERY wet, windy day here on the wet – er, west coast. And we’re in for a week of rain, so it’s definitely fall. Today’s card is created with the Newton’s Nook stamp set called Newton’s Rainy Day.
NEWTON’S RAINY DAY
The large focal image in this set is just adorable! Newton (the cat) is too cute, with his little ducky friend.
Start with a piece of white cardstock, and stamp the image in Memento Tuxedo Black ink. Use your favourite markers or pencils to colour. I chose my alcohol ink markers; Spectrum Noir Illustrator & Tri-Blends, and Copics. The colours are all in the supply index at the bottom of the page. Stamp several of the raindrop trios in a light blue ink.
Next, use the matching Newton’s Rainy Day dies to die cut the image, and raindrops. Ona piece of blue cardstock, randomly stamp the raindrop trio’s, in blue ink. Now, attach the die cut image with foam squares, and raindrops to the blue cardstock piece. Use a white gel pen to add some highlight details.
On a piece of yellow cardstock, stamp the sentiments in the upper left and bottom right corner, in the black ink. Attach the blue card piece to the yellow one, using a piece of fun foam, or foam tape strips. Finally, attach the card front onto a blue card base.
Whether life has given you a rainy day, or a sunny one, I hope that you have time to create! I’m very happy that my fellow Design Team member (of Scrap ‘N Stamp) Laurie, gifted me this set. I think I’ll get a lot of use from it, living here in Vancouver *wink*
