HOT DOGS & FLIES!
Sounds like a terrible combination, right? Not if you’re into wiener dogs and puns! I chose the Hot Dog stamp set to feature in my post. I couldn’t resist the adorable dachshund dogs, and I’m always up for a good laugh.
Too cute, right? I thought I’d add to the fun with a super easy fun fold – plus, that meant I could add another cute pup on the inside!
FUN FOLD
First, create your card base. I chose a dark brown cardstock, that measures 11″ x 4 1/4″. Next, fold in half (left to right) at 5 1/2″. Now, fold the top backwards (to the left) in half. Or, score the top piece at 2 3/4″, and then fold back. Easy peasy! Next, cut your layers; the coloured pieces are each 1/4″ less in size than the base.
Stamp the Hot Dog image in Nocturne ink onto white cardstock, and then colour with markers. Be sure to stamp the ‘ketchup’ onto the dog’s back! Add some highlights with a white gel pen. Next, use oval dies to die cut the image, then a slightly larger oval to glue behind it. Stamp the sentiment, and the flies, onto a strip of white cardstock, and snip banner tails on the right side. Layer these onto the front portion of the card front.
For the inside, stamp the dog in boots, and sentiment, onto the inside white panel. Again colour with markers, and then glue the panel to the inside. Here’s how the card looks, when it’s open.
I added the ketchup splatters, and more flies, onto the inside panel, for continuity of the pun!
