Wrap it Up Holiday Blog Hop

Welcome to the Scrap ‘N Stamp Wrap it Up! Holiday Blog Hop!

Wrap It Up Blog Hop

Now that we’re officially into December, it’s time to get ready to finalize your gift making and buying. Then of course you need to add the all important touches of special boxes, bags, tags and bows! That’s what this Wrap It Up holiday blog hop is about – so let’s make merry!

Before we start with my project, just a reminder that there’s a special offer this weekend only at Scrap ‘N Stamp – check it out! Save 20% Off Selected Products. Click on the image below.

Is it a gift holder? Or a gift card holder? It’s BOTH! This cute little box has a card on front for you to tuck a gift card inside. Plus, it has a little sliding drawer, for you to put another treat inside!

Here’s how it looks when it’s closed – isn’t that Santa sweet?!

And then, you can open the card and slide out the drawer to reveal 2 presents in one!

With a cute sentiment inside, of course.

For the card, start with 5″ x 7″ white cardstock. Score in half at 2 1/2″. On the right hand side, score up 2″ from the bottom. Next, snip off the excess on the left side, and fold up on the right. This is your tab to hold the gift card. Miter the left side of the tab for an easy fit, and then use double sided tape on the right side only, to hold it in place. Stamp the sentiment from the Photo Play Jolly Old St. Nick stamp set on the inside left. On the front of the card, add a piece of patterned paper.

Stamp the Santa onto another piece of white cardstock in Nocturne ink. Colour his hat with Copic R29 Lipstick Red, and add some shading to his beard & mustache with Warm Gray W3.  To add dimension to the fur on his hat, his bear & mustached, apply Versamark to those areas. Cover with WOW White Puffing Embossing Powder, and heat set. Neat effect, isn’t it?! Now use the matching Jolly Old St. Nick dies with your Big Shot, and die cut the Santa.  Attach Santa to the card front with foam tape or squares.

Stamp the sentiment onto a scrap of white cardstock, and then die cut it with a stitched oval die. Use the next larger stitched oval die for the green cardstock piece underneath. Attach these underneath Santa, and then attach the card to the front of your box.

The details for the box are quite long, (although it’s easy to make) so I’m adding them HERE, in my Free Tutorials page.

Here’s a close up photo above, of Santa! I added a bit of pink to his nose and cheeks by picking up some Spun Sugar Distress Oxide ink with a tiny brush and applying it.

I've always liked to create things, but I'm not a great artist, or sculptor, or any type of 'traditional' artist - but I love to create! I love the satisfaction of a completed project. Whether a card, painting or other project - as long as it can create a smile, evoke a feeling, or some type of reaction in the recipient. I hope you will enjoy sharing my creations, and occasional ramblings; I'd enjoy having you create with me! :)
